“One of a Kind Charleston, SC Tour”
Reviewed August 3, 2013

We have been to Charleston, SC several times and taken bus tours but we were blown away by Marvin's "Doin' The Charleston" tour. Marvin is very witty and provides lots of extras. Look for his brochure at the hotel or visitor center stand that contains a $3.00 per person off coupon. AAA discount is another way to save. Besides the 90 minute narrated tour, Marvin has on board video of many and past historical images of Charleston. He shows you inside photos of houses and churches that help you decide which to visit. He told us about the historical paintings, especially one of George Washington that you can visit free in the City Hall and Courthouse. Free admittance to Powder Magazine is a bonus.

“Great Tour of Charleston”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

My husband and I only had about 2 hours to do a tour of Charleston so we decided not to go on a walking tour. I found a brochure for this company at the Holiday Inn we were staying at and decided it would work best for us. The tours leave from the Visitor's Center and you can park and leave your car there. It was a really humid day and we were very grateful for the the air conditioned bus. Marvin was our tour guide and he was fantastic! It was a weekday and there were only 3 couples on the bus, but he was very informative and funny. We had also purchased a ticket to go into 1 of 2 downtown historic houses. Based on what we had learned during the tour, we decided to tour the Post-Revolutionary Manigault House. We really enjoyed both tours.

“Very disappointing”
Reviewed June 3, 2013

We were given a 4:30 reservation for the day we arrived in Charleston. We had read good reviews of the tour and hoped doing this tour on our first day would allow us to make better plans for our stay. You can imagine our disappointment and frustration when we went to board the bus and were told that unless 4 more people signed up in the next half hour, they would cancel the tour. When the inconvenience and complete disregard for the consequences to us were pointed out, we were told that gas was expensive. We obtained a refund and enjoyed a Grey Line tour the next day. It would have been good to know ahead of time that cancellation was a possibility but I did not see it anywhere on their web site.

“Doing the Charleston tour”
Reviewed May 17, 2013

Took 3 family members from Canada for any overnight stay in Charleston! I have always had great experiences with the city tours. Our bus had only 8 people on board, this appeared to be somewhat boring for our tour guide Marvin. While Marvin seemed to be very knowledgeable, his condescending attitude really cast a poor shadow on our tour. At one point we were even told that we were a difficult group to work. He left out many of the features and facts that other tour guides have given in the past and too much time was spent sitting idle on the bus.
Maybe this was just a bad day for Marvin but it sure left a sour taste for us!

“Great Overview of Historic Charleston”
Reviewed May 14, 2013

We recently had a Navy Reunion in Charleston. I chose this tour over others because they picked us up at the Airport Sheraton and the service was Great and Marvin, our tour guide was very informative, entertaining and provided us with a enjoyable tour. I would recommend this to any one visiting Charleston. Although we personally had visited Charleston on many occasions we learned many interesting details about our beautiful historic city on just this tour.
