We stayed Friday night - Monday morning over President's Day weekend, with a group of seven. Five were in the Dependency and 2 in the Carriage House, where we gathered. The rooms are spacious and nicely furnished with antiques. We greatly enjoyed the fresh banana bread, shortbread and quiches delivered every day. The microwaves and small refrigerators were handy for breakfasts and munchies. The location is great - 5 minute walk to downtown and all those great restaurants, and just across the street from the seawall walk. The staff was great. We took advantage of the 'free to guests' tour of the main house and enjoyed that as well.

We just returned from our stay at 21 East Battery B&B and it was wonderful. Great location and the carriage house was beautiful. Kristina the Innkeeper was very helpful and made us feel very welcome. You are blocks from Battery Park, across the street from the Harbor within walking distance of shopping and all the restaurants you could want.

I hope to be back one day soon!

We just got back from our weekend away and it was absolutely wonderful. We stayed in the slave quarters-- plenty of room for two (there is an extra bedroom that can be rented out but if only two people rent it, they do not rent the other bedroom). The place was quiet, secluded, and well-maintained. We loved the history of the place. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I recently escaped the fast pace of our daily lives and snuck away to a fabulous find in Charleston, 21 East Battery. We had the pleasure of staying in the quarters. So beatiful and quaint and filled with southern charm and hospitality. We entered to find a lovely fruit bowl and stocked pantry awaiting us for breakfast. We enjoyed a walk across the street to see the sailboats passing by at sunset and then enjoyed a moolit walk to dinner. My only complaint was the stay ended too quickly. The authenticity of the propery has been kept in tact with period antiques, but with no loss of the needed modern day comforts, i.e. comfortable bed, great bath and towels and products. We even had the pleasure of meeting the owners who are truly a delightful couple. We highly recommend 21 East Battery, but leave room for us!!

Recently I booked the carriage house at 21 East Battery as a surprise for my husbands birthday. While we live in Mt. Pleasant (near Charleston) we still love to play tourist in our own town and get away for weekends. What a great find this was. It was located in the heart of the historic district and just a short walk to dozens of great restaurants.

We woke up in the morning a took a stroll along the battery (just outside our front door)! Everything was perfect. I highly recommend this lovely bed and breakfast!

I have been a guest at this hotels sister property for many years and the Innkeeper, Abby Martin, talked me into the Town and Country package. I was very suprised and quite happy. Can't say enough good things about my stay. Balcony overlooks harbor, huge amount of space and gracious breakfast. Two nights downtown and two nights in the country was a perfect contrast. Will be back.
