We stayed at 15 Church Street for two nights in late May. The house is in a beautiful area of Charleston - great atmosphere and it's very easy to walk from there to other parts of the city/attractions you would want to visit (we were able to park our hire car in the B&B's secure driveway and didn't need it while we were there). The drinks hour each evening is lovely as is the communal breakfast table - makes it very social so if you want to escape from people and conversation, this is probably not the right option for you!

We were in the Rosé Room - very spacious with everything we needed. Up lots of stairs though so not an option if your mobility is not good. The sun rises early though so we were woken early and it started to get pretty hot in the room at about 7.30am. On the upside, one morning I used the extra time to go for a run along the water - incredible homes to see and for me, a real highlight of our time in Charleston.

The breakfasts were nice. Not too big or heavy which was a nice change for America!

Jack and Annalise are very hospitable and Annalise took the time to give us an overview of local history before we ventured out on our first day which was appreciated. But greatest praise goes to Martha - when my husband asked her for some washing liquid as he had a mark on his shirt, she insisted that she launder it for him...and the mark was gone when she returned it to him! Very, very kind and definitely above and beyond the call of duty. Thanks to all three of you for an enjoyable stay.

Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful comments! Please know that we enjoyed you just as much and look forward to your return.

Jack, Annelise, Martha, Frannie the dog, Drifter & Clarence the cats.

PS We do have an auxiliary AC unit in the top rooms in addition to the central HVAC. Perhaps it was not yet installed in May which is typically a cool month.

On our way to Florida, my husband and I spent 2 nights at this most welcoming B&B. We've stayed in many B&Bs but none had the historical character and feel of home as 15 Church Steet. One feels the continuum of history in the house, the street, the neighborhood, the entire town. And as for our hosts, it is rare to so quickly bond with 2 perfect strangers as we did with Martha and Jack (unfortunately, Annelise was away) - we felt sad that we do not live close enough to them to periodically share a bottle of wine and probe into each others' pasts. It was just so delightful to spend time at their most beautiful home. We shall return (despite my allergy to cats) (Drifter, the household "lap cat" certainly was not allergic to me!!).

My husband and I spent 2 nights on a recent trip to Charleston. Originally, we were going to stay at a hotel using points, but decided to treat ourselves by staying at a bed & breakfast. We are so glad we did! Our time at the inn was wonderful. Martha immediately made us feel right at home. It was like visiting with family. The house and the grounds were absolutely beautiful. The location was perfect. It was extremely quiet and we were able to walk everywhere. We didn't use our car once. Breakfast selections were plentiful and tasty. We especially enjoyed the evening social hour. Typically, we would have run from one activity to the next, but socializing at the inn helped us to slow down, relax and unwind. We really missed social hour when we returned home on Saturday night! I would recommend 15 Church Street Bed & Breakfast to anyone. It is the perfect spot for couples, families, friends, etc.

Stayed at the Phillips-Yates-Snowden house in early April. I was there with 5 friends for a girls get-away to Charleston and this was the perfect spot! Jack and Annelise make you feel like part of their family and right at home. The location was perfect - walking distance to everyplace we wanted to go. Would definitely stay there again!

We stayed here for garden tours in April 2013. We loved this place. The owners are so welcoming and accomodating. The house is historic: beautiful and furnished with family pieces. For our party of 7 it felt like we were guests in their home. We stayed in the carriage house and it worked perfectly for a group. We had plenty of bath rooms, a nice kitchen and a small dining or reading room.On the last night we stayed in, had a catered meal, and felt like we were in the home of a friend for a delicious dinner.
We loved the home cooked breakfasts that were filling, delicious and individualized! This was a real treat. In the evening we would return home, feet tired, exhausted from so many miles of garden tours and sit on the verandah or "Charleston side porch" and enjoy a drink and snack. The hosts made it as though we were their guests and entertained us royally.
We laughed and dined and had a lovely time, no doubt becasue of the setting. Jack, the host was the best! and the staff who are there during the day are freindly and helpful.
We will be back for another great time at this wonderful B&B!
