“Always Something New!”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

I love King Street due to the vast amount of shops and the variety they bring. You have your high-end stores (Louis Vuitton), then you also have GAP, then your local clothing stores. Of course, there are many more of each than I mentioned. Also, every second Sunday of the month is a must! They close off the roads between 1-5 and you have all sorts of street artists and musicians, as well as the stores move tables outside onto the road for you to dine in the nice weather. There are multiple dogs around (which for a dog-lover like me is amazing), and some stores offer big discounts then, as well.

King is a must, but enjoy the long walk. You will find stores you never knew about each time you go!

“Good shopping”
Reviewed March 9, 2013

Nice shopping and boutiques on king street. A lot of its high end stores but also some affordable ones. However I will say a lot of the girls working in the boutiques were rather snobby. I've never experienced that before not even in New York or Los Angeles/Beverly Hills. The knock off jewelry the one was selling was laughable because if you want to try to be all fancy there is no need to be selling knock off Cartier. For $48 at that. That was my only bad experience on king street. Enjoy the shopping!!

“Interesting blend of old and new”

Walk the entire street, past the trendy expensive shops and up to the cooler area. Lots of great little places.

“If You're Looking for a Mall...Stay Home!”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

King Street is a wonderful shopping experience - that is if you're looking for high-end unique, and often eclectic shops. Housed in historically significant buildings with interesting architecture, King Street offers everything from designer stores (Louis Vuitton & Gucci) to some of Charleston's best restaurants (Sermets). Charleston is not only a haven for history buffs, it is also home of many award-winning chefs! Locals in the know NEVER eat in chain restaurants - we know we don't have to! You'd be hard-pressed to find a bad meal in Charleston. Back in the 40's and 50's, King Street was Charleston's Theater Row! Many of the shops and restaurants are located in these old theaters. So take a moment to check out your surroundings - you will be pleasantly surprised. If you came to Charleston to shop in a mall-like environment, like many of those posting comments here, quite frankly - you should stay home! King Street has so much to offer - you just have to open your eyes to see it!
