My husband and I stayed at Palmer's Pinckney Inn for a couple days over Labor Day weekend. We had the Equestrian Room on the first floor, with windows facing the street and also the porch. We loved our room. The bed was comfortable and the furnishings made it feel like you were staying in someone's home. There was noise from the street, as the carriage tours depart from the surrounding buildings. However, we had a noise machine in our room that drowned out any disturbances. You are in a small B&B so you will hear other guests as they come and go.

The location of this B&B was excellent. We were a five minute walk from Market Street, ten minutes to Meeting Street, and just fifteen minutes to the heart of East Bay where there are plenty of dining options. Even the walk down to the Battery or the waterfront areas, though about twenty to twenty-five minutes was not a struggle. We did take advantage of the wine and cheese at The Palmer Home (who also owns the Pinckey Inn) on the first evening and enjoyed seeing the gorgeous house and the views of the Battery and the Charleston Harbour.

Parking is tight here, but it is free and we didn't move the car again until we left. The parking across the street isn't outrageously priced if you choose to park there.

The innkeeper, Cindy, was fantastic. She offered great suggestions for places to eat and made sure that we were given the tour of the public areas of the house. There was always an ample supply of pastries, munchies, drinks in the kitchen and fresh coffee in the morning. To our surprise, our room was even straightened up our first morning there.

We will definitely choose Palmer's Pinckney Inn for our return to Charleston. We didn't feel that we did the city justice in just two days and can't wait to plan our return trip!

My fiance and I stayed in the Bombay Room last week and it was amazing. The Palmer Pinckney Inn is a wonderful B&B in the heart of downtown. The room was great, it had a small jacuzzi tub which was nice but it would have been better if it was larger. The 4 poster bed was sooo comfy. The breakfast was fine, just pastries and breads, which is fine with me. We did have the option to go to the sister inn, the Palmer House for a full breakfast for $7.50 a person which sounds like a good price but we passed on that. We did however go to the Palmer House for the complimentary wine and cheese between 4-6pm and that was amazing. The house is on the Battery and the views of the harbour. We sat on the 3rd floor balcony with our wine watching the carriage tours go by looking at us in envy. The only bad thing about this B&B is that it is located right next to a carriage tour barn and the horses are not the most pleasant smell, but in the room it was nice and fresh air. I will definately be back!

This trip was a last minute plan but worked out beautifully. The room was very comfortable and inviting. There is free onsite parking - a bonus! The location is very convenient to local attractions and great meals. The innkeeper was very helpful by providing information and details even though we were a late check-in. I would stay here again and certainly plan to! Don't look for glamour on the outside though because this is located downtown in a very old city. If you are looking for a good price, comfort and a very convenient location then this is a great choice. Once you are in your room, you will thoroughly enjoy it and since this location is so convenient you can park your car and forget about it. Enjoy the walk through a great city for dining and local fun.

To celebrate my wife's birthday, I planned a surprise trip to Charleston, SC. I initially booked our stay through Priceline.com for two nights in the downtown Charleston area. However, upon arrival in Charleston, our Priceline pick was - how can I put this nicely? - A DUMP!

I immediately called Priceline and was able to get a refund; but here we were in Charleston on a Friday evening with nowhere to stay. We quickly began making phone calls and were able to get a downtown hotel for a reasonable rate for that night.

Once we were checked into the room, I began searching for another place to stay for the rest of our trip; and that's when I found Palmer's Pinckney Inn. It was just around the block from where we were staying and the price couldn't be beat!

We stayed in the Parisian room and loved it! The accommodations were great and the bed was really comfy too, not to mention the great wine and cheese tasting at their sister B&B, The Palmer Home.

Thank you so much to Cindy and Ms. Palmer for the chance to make our stay in Charleston a great time! We will be returning in the future and this is where we'll be staying again!

The Inn is located in the Market district amidst horse carriage companies. Just a few blocks away from numerous restaurants and tourist spots, but situated enough out of the way to avoid the tourist crowds.

We stayed in the Equastrian room on the first floor. Beautiful, spacious room with high ceilings and a king-size bed that you wouldn't want to get out of!

Service was excellent, informal yet friendly. Kitchen was stocked full of teas, coffee, snacks and breakfast goodies. I would go back in a heart-beat!
