“Just right for us.”

Myself, my adult son and his fiancé stayed at Cottage End and we loved it. It was such a large and comfortable home we felt like we were staying at a best friends house. Even though we only fixed two meals there the kitchen was awesome. Wish I had one that large in my own home. We loved the quietness of the area and all the beautiful trees surrounding the house. We also enjoyed seeing the variance each day in the water levels in the cove across the road as the tide came and went. We are from Central Texas and this is not something we are used to. I would definitely recommend this house if you want a quiet place to retreat to after buzzing around all day doing all the fun activities that the area has to offer.

“Authentic low country experience off the beaten path.”

Cottage End delivers on all of its promises. A very nice, comfortable place to stay with a family or several adults looking for a quiet retreat. The views of the tidal flats and huge old oak trees from the many windows are simply beautiful. My kids enjoyed fishing off the dock across the street. The Charleston County park pass also comes in very handy for the nearby water park (10 mins away) and parking at the county park on Folly Beach. Which I would recommend highly because this part of the beach is much cleaner and quieter than the rest of Folly. The house is a solid 15 min drive from the beach, so that took a little more planning than if closer by.
The house is located down a long dirt road in Charleston with friendly neighbors that are obviously local residents. Convenient to downtown waterfront as well. The house's best feature is the great kitchen, well stocked with a nice center island for informal meals. The main drawback to the house was the master bed was not super comfortable.

“Great place for extended family holiday”

We just stayed with an extended family ranging from late teens to the much older grand-parents. The three bedrooms with their own bathrooms, plus an extra toilet, made things much easier for all. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out or come together for family meals and pretty much everything you needed was available. (One can always think of something you might have at home, but the owner has thought of most essentials).
The house is in a quite secluded location amongst trees and near the water which suited us fine, but you will need to drive to the shops/restaurants, the beach or downtown Charleston which is a beautiful city to visit only 15 minutes away.

“Relaxing”

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Cottage End! The location and the house were as depicted on TripAdvisor and in the contract. The owner was professional, courteous, and prompt and thorough when answering my questions via email. One thing we were concerned about was how accessible the house would be, but we had no difficulty with the dirt road leading to the house. Downtown Charleston was a short and easy drive from Cottage End as were several James Island restaurants and Folly Beach. The house itself had unique character and craftsmanship and was spacious and comfortable. The kitchen and bathrooms had everything we needed. We enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets from the dock near the house. We felt that by staying at Cottage End we were able to see and do everything we wanted to in Charleston and also had a relaxing, quiet "get away." We received our deposit back quickly. We would definitely stay at Cottage End again!

“We so enjoyed this peaceful setting”

The setting for Cottage End is a lovely example of tidal South Carolina. On a tidal sound and dead end road, it is very quiet. We found everything we needed at the house, and appreciated being able to grill at home one night. We found a breakfast diner, roadhouse seafood joint, grocery store and cozy tavern right on the main drag through James Island. Short drive to the beach and into Charleston. Owner could not have been nicer. Thanks so much.

Rented Cottage End for the week of July 5 and had a wonderful time. It is close to everything but at the same time quiet and secluded. I personally enjoyed sitting on the front stoop every morning enjoying my tea and listening to the world wake up.

the place was beautiful with all the woodwork and we were very much at home there...

would recommend to anyone who wants privacy and convenience when visiting the area...

“Great place to stay in Charleston”

Cottage End is a great place to stay when visiting Charleston. The house is very nice and well maintained. There is plenty of room, we had 6 adults and 2 children, and everyone was very comfortable. There are lots of games and the kitchen is well stocked with the essentials. It is located in a very quite area and only about 15 - 20 minutes from downtown. We would definitely stay again and recommend to friends. Grocery stores and a great pizza place are close by.
