Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express - Ashley Phosphate next door with some business colleagues and we thought we'd give this place a shot. Upon arrival, staff was stiff and seemed to be staring at us before our server seated us. Our waiter was an older gentleman who wasn't overly friendly or attentive. There were 5 of us, so not a huge party. Despite this, it took about 15 minutes for our waiter to even take our drink order. About another 15 minutes for him to come back for our food order. Here's where it got ridiculous, 30 minutes into our experience we finally were served our drinks. 1 HOUR into our experience we were STILL waiting for our food. This would be understandable if they were busy, but there were only a few tables occupied in this relatively large dining room. We had to ask another waiter (since ours disappeared) where our food was. About 1 hour and 30 minutes into our experience we finally got our food. WOW, what a disappointment. For the amount of time we waited, we were expecting some quality food. Not the case. EVERYTHING they serve is either canned, or frozen. I actually ordered the pizza because I though, how can they screw this up? Well, they made my pizza wrong. I ordered pepperoni, mushrooms and olive. I got pepperoni, sausage and onion. Whatever, I ate it anyway and it was only mediocre. Insult to injury, we waiting about 30 minutes to settle our bill after eating. I had ordered a salad which never came and I was still billed for this. As expected, it took forever to get this fixed to finally get settle up and get the hell out of this place. All in all, the 5 of us wasted 2 hours, 45 minutes in this place for the worst service and food I've had in recent memory.
I implore anyone who reads this review to avoid this place at all cost. "Authentic" should not be part of the description of this restaurant. Go to Olive Garden or anything else instead if you want Italian in this neighborhood.
