“Worth the expense”
Reviewed August 10, 2014

Great restaurant in downtown Charleston! Although it's pricey, I felt that it was worth the money. It was one of our more expensive meals in Charleston. Not only was the food excellent all around our table of 9, but the service was phenomenal as well. Some food highlights were the shrimp & grits, whole fish and the steak. The dessert were also delicious in particular the key lime pie, grand marnier souffle and peach cobbler. Cocktail list is already great - very interesting and inventive. In particular, we liked the southern mule and the Charelston cocktail. The staff was highly attentive, gave really extensive answers to all of our questions and went out of his way to make sure someone at our table with a food allergy was taken care of.

“Delicious Brunch!”
Reviewed August 10, 2014 via mobile

This restaurant was recommended for Sunday brunch so we made a reservation and were glad we did. We were coming straight from the airport and were delayed, but were told it was no problem when we called and in fact were warmly greeted when we finally appeared an hour late. The dining rooms are lovely and the decor is beautiful, the ambience relaxing. This was southern hospitality at it's best. One of us had the crab cakes Benedict and one had the spinach and mushroom omelet. Both fresh and delicious. Generous portions. Cornbread served ahead of the meal. Pleasant and attentive service. Highly recommend.

“Happy hour!”

Great happy hour with friendly and knowledgeable bartenders. Innovative drinks and tasty house-made spirits. Fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese were a standout!

“Wonderful Ambiance”
Reviewed August 6, 2014

Truly a southern-style, "20's ambiance and well worth eating there. Menu items had a southern twist to them that fit perfectly with the overall restaurant. A delicious gazpacho was enjoyed by 3 of us, but, the seafood cocktail was a disappointment. The fresh peach and goat cheese salad was divine. High Cotton definitely knows how to do shrimp and grits - wow!! The pork chop was excellent and the yellowtail special was cooked to perfection. We enjoyed the live music from the bar which was around the corner from our dining room. We'll definitely return.
