We were in Charleston for a long weekend and stayed at Charleston Place Hotel. I made a reservation at Charleston Grill prior to our trip based on reviews from Trip Advisor and Open Table. The restaurant is located on the ground floor of the hotel so it was very convenient for us. In short, the recommendations are well justified! This is a fantastic restaurant with an extensive menu separated into 4 areas - Cosmopolitan, Southern, Pure and Lush. Since we had appetizers on the club level of Charleston Place, we opted for entrees and a side at Charleston Grill. I had the kurobuta pork chop which was excellent while my wife had the seared flounder and shrimp which was fantastic (both off the Southern menu section). We also shared the potato gratin side (from the Lush menu section) which was very tasty. They have an extensive comprehensive wine list available. Cocktails were excellent. There was an excellent jazz band playing. The service was fantastic! It was pricey but well worth it. Charleston Grill and FIG were our 2 favorite restaurants in Charleston.
