Our meal was fantastic, as was the service and location. We made a last minute decision to go to Magnolias and did not have reservations. We arrived around 6:30 and were lucky enough to find a seat at the bar. The food is to die for! I had scallops as an appetizer and steak for dinner, both were out of this world!!

Thank Patti P

Management - There are several comments on this site about how you need to clean the glass inside your restaurant. Why you don't do this after multiple public comments about the issue is beyond me. The mirror behind the bar and the mirrors on the interior walls were very dirty, which made me very VERY uncomfortable about the unknown cleanliness of the kitchen. I'm not a clean freak, but it was very noticeable and unappetizing. Get out the Windex - it's the little things like this that show a lack of respect for your patrons. I would not recommend this restaurant for that one reason.

Service - Service was pretty good with some flaws. The waiter forgot our table's entire round of appetizers, which was very disappointing. We went straight from drinks to the main course, which shortened our meal. I didn't mind, however, as it shortened the amount of time I had to star at the dirty mirrors.

Food - The food was just a little above average for the price point. I expected much more. The tuna was very tasty but the quality of the fish could have been higher. The shellfish over grits was not as good as shrimp and grits we had other places, and this dish was pushed hard by the waiter. Oh well. The trout was very, very good. Out of the 4 meals we ordered, only the trout would be worth going back for. The pecan pie was very good.

We went to Magnolias for Our anniversary dinner. The Hostess at the door had a red nose and was coughing and sneezing. They sat us at a table that was right near the hostess. After sitting there for a little while watching and listening to her snot and sneeze and cough, We asked to be moved to another table. After some uncomfortable embarrassment at their restaurant, they moved us to a table further in the back. The new waiter was snotty and rude. He barely acknowledged us, while he was friendly with all his other tables. We spent a lot of money for dinner, and had reservations for the next two nights, but after being treated like that and being exposed to the hostesses "cold", we cancelled our reservations and will not return to that restaurant again.

Attentive and informed staff. Great mains but the knock out dish was the pecan pie! Entire family finished off their plates. A rarity in our house. My wife declared that the seafood and grits was her favorite meal of our travels through the South. Did I mention I really liked the pecan pie?

We came to Magnolias to enjoy a nice meal, unfortunately we had to walk out. We are young professionals who have money to spend on a great meal and were intending on doing so...we spent it elsewhere. Waiter came by to fill water and we never saw him again nor were we acknowledged by any other waitstaff even though we were painfully waiting to be spoken too. After giving them the benefit of the doubt and 20 minutes of our life we got up and left. No point in spending money in a restaurant that doesn't acknowledge your existence. Shame, as we were looking forward to the items we had decided on.
