No longer a secret among Charlestonians, which is evidenced by the crowded carpark, we did well to get in. We had walked here a few days earlier in the the mistaken belief that it was a Variety Store - at the Marina. Well it was, once, but Hurricane Hugo put paid to its trade, and it is now an excellent venue for fabulous fish dishes and great breakfasts. With one (older) exception, we found all the staf to be friendly and helpful. We prefer tea sometimes and it was a treat to be given a whole box from which to choose a blend. The crab cakes egg benedict is a tasty favourite, but the usual supects are available; waffles, pancakes, eggs anyways, maple syrup, bacon...
The windows naturally overlook the marina with views of rich peoples' boats and the ever-present pelicans.

THis was our first meal after a three day ocean sailing rip and it was perfect antidote to cold cereal bars and small hits of soup. As noted, it takes a while to get your food but this is Charleston. Relax. Breakfast is especially good with huge portions at good price. Friendly staff too.

Nothing fancy, but a great place to have breakfast or lunch. I had lunch here on a Saturday afternoon, and the place wasn't very busy, so no wait. Great shrimp tacos! The view of the marina is also nice to have while you enjoy your food or to stroll around and check out the many nice boats docked there. I definitely would eat here again.

We have eaten here twice. One time we had breakfast and the other time we had lunch. It was good both times and I would give it a 3 1/2 if that were an option. The view is very nice and it is good on the budget. Service is slow but friendly. I had a shrimp po boy and the shrimp were good. The french fries were Ore Ida crinkle fries. My husband had the crab omelet and liked it very much.

The place was always busy but we never had to wait to be seated. It is old 20+ years but has a charm you will enjoy. The menu was pretty extensive but mostly fried and delicious. We had a dinner and also a breakfast here and both were awesome and reasonably priced!
