“one of my favorites in Charleston”
Reviewed April 29, 2009

The menu focuses on local fresh foods, and offers an excellent variety. Very good wine list, and friendly professional service. I was very happy with the vegetarian plate prepared by the chef at my request - while not on the menu, it was one of the best looking plates I saw!

“FIG: Food Is Good...”
Reviewed April 15, 2009

If you are looking for a restaurant with inviting, unique, fresh and healthy dishes with a modern spin, then FIG is your restaurant. We had a GREAT meal there! We tried multiple different types of appetizers and entres that we had never had due to FIGs use of local growers. I would definitely return.

“Don't Believe The Hype”
Reviewed March 12, 2009

Our dining experience at FIG was not what we had hoped for. We thought the ingredients in most of the dishes we tried were spectacular but over-manipulated. It was as if the kitchen was trying to create a piece of art, instead of focusing on creating a wonderful tasting dish. The service was good, but somewhat standoffish. We really enjoyed the modern "artsy" atmosphere.

“Fresh & Local”
Reviewed February 4, 2009

We really enjoyed our dinner at Fig. The food is all really fresh & locally sourced, something which we greatly appreciate. Our favorites: the chicken liver pate, ricotta gnocchis & (oddly enough) the housemade maple ice cream. Our server was fantastic, really attentive, knowledgable & personable. All of the dishes we ordered were due to her informative suggestions.

The reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5: there was nothing that really blew us out of the water with uniqueness as something we've never experienced before. Everything seemed really familiar to things we've had before at other restaurants. It is much more of bistro dining than we expected. If you're looking for clean, fresh simple food without too many surprises, this is the place. If you're wanting a dining experience that is full of unexpected touches & surprising flavors that you have not experienced before, you might want to dine somewhere else in Charleston.

“excellent”
Reviewed January 14, 2009

The French onion tart was outstanding and the veal breast was so tender it melted in the mouth. The citrus salad had really tasty greens and fruit was refreshing. The local fish was cooked perfectly but the most outstanding dish was the veal breast. The cocktails and the wine were great. We've been visiting Charleston for three weeks and this is the best choice of a restaurant so far.
