FIG is constantly raved about as possibly the best restaurant in town, so my boyfriend and I finally decided to try it out. While the food was very good, I wasn't blown away like I expected to be. I have had better meals at other places around town that don't get the same attention. I suspect Chef wasn't in the kitchen that night, but when we know we can go to several other places and be extremely satisfied every time, chances are we won't go back.

We just returned to NYC from our trip to Charleston, we ate at Fig the first night we arrived, we didn't have a reservation but was lucky enough to get an a table due to a cancellation. The service is wonderful, from the bar to the wait staff (one server for every4 tables). The food was exceptional. Coming from NYC with so many wonderful restuarants we were very pleased that Fig is just as good if not better then some of our favorite NYC dining spots. I would highly recommend Fig for anyone wanting a wonderful dining experience in Charleston.

We dined at FIG four years ago and were eager to return during our recent visit to this "foodie" paradise. FIG did not disappoint...It was one of the best meals we had in Charleston. Husband started with the mouth-watering tomato tart and enjoyed his porgy with Yukon Gold potatoes, golden beets and butternut squash. My appetizer of Pumpkin soup was sublime...Just the right amount of pumpkin. The texture was perfect. The winning dish was my entree of grouper with clams, potato and corn chowder. So delicious. I hope to recreate it at home. We shared a slice of sorghum cake with yoghurt ice cream. Delicious! Our waiter, Jamell, was as enthusiastic about the food as we were and made excellent wine recommendations. The only criticisms we have are: the noise level in the restaurant is extremely loud and we would have preferred different music. But go for the food! Wish we lived nearby so we could dine at FIG more often. Thank you FIG for an incredible meal!

Two couples out together to celebrate our wedding anniversaries which fall one day apart. We chose FIG because the other couple had never been there before, and we had not eaten there in several years.

Our visit a couple years ago was good but not outstanding. This time it was one of the top in Charleston.

We had a short wait for our table, but the staff was pleasant and considerate. The bar has its own regular crowd of barflys, so there is little space left in the front to wait.

We brought our own wine for this special occasion and the restaurant was very accommodating about this (reasonable corkage fee) and they treated the bottles as if they were their own.

The menu is more expansive than it was on our visit a couple years ago. Also it is much more intelligently crafted now than before.

FIG takes great pride on sourcing their ingredients and it shows in the amazing flavors.

Go, but be sure to make a reservation. Not likely to get in on the spur of the moment.

the dessert was the best, some kind of lemon dessert. Meals were very good but too pricey, and atmosphere was average.
