“Crepe du jour!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2013

The menu is extensive, which I usually think is a turn off, but I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the sweet/savory crepe for brunch and it was delicious. I sat on the lovely alley patio for Sunday brunch. Great experience overall.

“Great Lunch Spot”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2013

Here for lunch on 24th of August. Quite, good service, food was great. Bartender was excellent. This is laid back @ lunch, but seems like it would be a "dressy" place @ dinner

“A Touch of French Bistro in a Southern Town”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2013

We were there for lunch and enjoyed the beef tartare, escargot, PEI mussels and a unique twist on a grilled cheese sandwich. They were very busy and servers kept up as best as possible.

“Good choice dining late on a rainy night”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2013

Coming from UK and having visited France so often I don't make a habit of choosing a French restaurant in the USA. On a rainy night getting late and tired our first choice of restaurant was very apologetic but closing early due to a flood on the kitchen. I asked for a recommendation and this is how we arrived at 39 Rue de Jean. Great wine well cooked salmon, outstanding pommes purée not too rich or over worked. Mussels good and excellent bread more pain rustique than baguette which explains an earlier negative review. Scallops, gratin dauphinois well executed but a tad over seasoned hence 4 not 5 stars. Good choice excellent service and well executed dishes.
