Gaulart & Maliclet is not your typical Charleston restaurant. Long and narrow, with all seats sent around a counter, this is an urban bistro worthy of that designation. From the moment you walk in you will know this is a transplant that evokes all the charm of those hundreds of small cafes that line the sidewalks of Paris. Inventive, reasonably priced food and wine. A menu that changes with the seasons and vegetarian options that are good. This place has been in Charleston forever and evokes a time when most Americans had not been to Paris and I'll be this place seemed pretty unique and exotic. It's a great stop off for a meal any time of the day and we will definitely be back. Very well located just about in the center of Charleston on Broad Street near the art galleries.
