“Quaint, Cozy, Delicious”
Reviewed June 21, 2010

Our concierge at The Fulton Inn recommended that we dine at Fulton Five while visiting Charleston and boy are we glad that we did. We walked over to the side street Fulton is named for and saw a cute little building covered in ivy on the facade with absolutely adorable decor in the cozy dining room (very unique artwork). It was a Friday night so it was a little loud and crowded, but it was almost like a big family eating together as everyone was having such a good time around us. The service was top notch and the wine list well thought. I had the fish special and my wife had the shrimp pasta. Both were wonderfully flavored. The chef does a wonderful job using local ingredients, but staying true to traditional northern italian cuisine.

First visit to this restaurant and it was perfect in every way. My wife and I were totally pleased with everything. We are looking forward to returning soon on our next visit. If you are looking for small, quaint and wonderful, this is the place.

“Favorite Restaurant On Our Vacation”
Reviewed May 9, 2010

My wife and I agreed that this was our favorite restaurant on our 2 week trip to Asheville, Charleston and Savannah. It is tucked away on a side street and looks quaint from the outside. There is free parking available across the street. We were meet warmly and seated promptly. Our server greeted us once we were settled and took our drink order. Over our drinks he described the evening's specials. The food was excellent and very savory. The chief knows what he is doing that's for sure. Our server who we think was a part owner was very knowledge about the wine list and made several recommendations to us in our price range. A very relaxing meal with great service and food, what more could one ask for. Well it could be just a tad quieter and that would be our only negative comment. Wish we had a Fulton Five here on the Oregon Coast!!

“Overrated”
Reviewed March 30, 2010

We went here to celebrate my birthday. Had reservations, got dressed up.The food was good but not exceptional. However the service was only adequate. We asked to move to one of 3 other available tables set up for 2 and while they finally let us move the mood certainly changed. All week long we experienced only very friendly people throughout the Charleston area. At our hotel, other restaurants, shops, tours etc. This was by far the most UNfriendly place. This is NOT an inexpensive restaurant and we both felt that the service should be of higher quality. Would not return here as there are so many other wonderful places to go. We were told that a jacket was required but other diners we there in t shirts and jeans. Also were told that it was a romantic restaurant- can't say that I would agree with this. It is a very small restaurant and the tables are very close together. It is on a side street away alot of foot traffic. But romantic ? No. Perhaps it was the frigid service.

“A Hidden Gem”
Reviewed March 19, 2010

My wife and I had dinner at Fulton Five this week and had a wonderful experience. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. We ended up being the last ones to leave the restaurant and chatted with the staff as they cleaned up and prepared for the next day. My wife had seafood pasta which was fresh and tasty. I had the pasta, with speck and peas and a very light cream sauce. Flavorful but not overpowering. Nice intimate restaurant and a surprise find for us.
