Ate at Peninsula last night (Thursday) and while it was nearly empty when we arrived at 6:30 PM that changed quickly. Ambiance understated. Our table for two was by a window overlooking the outdoor seating (closed too cold). Waitress knowledgeable and pleasant. Food superb. Had a fish I never heard of "wreck fish". Light, flakey and delicious. Wife had trout and although she was expecting a whole trout turned out to be pieces perfectly done with lump crab on the side. Very extensive wine list with wide range of prices although none under $45 if I recall.
Deserves a five star.

Thank you for such a complimentary review. I am thrilled that your visit to Peninsula Grill met and exceeded your expectations. Chef Graham Dailey's cuisine focuses on showcasing the flavors of the ingredients that his dishes are composed of. We are proud to be service Wreckfish. Fortunately it is a fish exclusive to the waters off Charleston and we are able to purchase it fresh off of the day boats it is fished on. A true delicacy of Charleston. Thank yhou for your visit. We look forward to serving you again.

It's pricey, but worth every penny of the cost. Magnificent cuisine, great wines and faultless service.

Atmosphere started a bit stiff and stuffy but rapidly loosened up and a well executed meal was thoroughly enjoyed. Service lead by Tiffany was impeccable and the servers acted as an organized team. Dishes were well executed to include soup trio, bibb salad, chopped salad, pork chop, and sea scallops, Meal was finished off with their famous seven layer coconut cake. It was so good we got one to go for breakfast the next day! The only compliant I have was that my martinis were too stiff and not flavorful. Wine sommelier even helped out with service and took time to explain German white wines to me. I would highly recommend for a special fine dining experience in Charleston.

My waiter suggested that I try the shrimp and grits. As an adventurous Yankee looking for new taste experiences...Why not? Twenty minutes later, I would not budge from the table until after I had eaten mine and wrestled my wife for a portion of hers.
