“Good Southern food, reasonable price”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

This restaurant is not centrally located but still has plenty visitors coming to try it's offering of authentic local food. We just happened to live literally around the corner. It's popular with locals as well which is a good sign because locals know a lot off other places with similar menu. Go to try what locals favor!

“Don't miss it!”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

We love Hominy Grill and visit every time we're in Charleston. As usual, it did not disappoint. I only wish we could have had lunch or dinner there as well, but our schedule did not accommodate this. Breakfast on the weekend can be pretty busy, try to go on a weekday. Either way, it's worth the wait. Make sure to leave with a bag of grits, you'll be craving them when you get home!

“What a nice find”
Reviewed May 11, 2013

I was looking online for a local place to get breakfast and this looked like a nice place to try. The place I guess holds to the historic restrictions for buildings there which is cool. The inside was a step back in time. It was very busy and we were fortunate to get seated without a wait. They served thick cut bacon and had to be fresh baked bread for toast...the texture was great. They had a small ceramic container on the table with blueberry jam...yum! The service was great and so was the food. It is a small place and seems to stay busy. There isn't much parking which is the only downside but a great place to eat. I would give it a try if in the area.

“Exactly right”
Reviewed May 10, 2013

I knew what I was going to order before I went in the restaurant...shrimp and grits. I was NOT disappointed. It was exactly what I was expecting and beyond delicious. It's a small restaurant so make reservations for dinner a day or so in advance

“Big Nasty Biscuit!!”
Reviewed May 10, 2013

You must try the big nasty biscuit. Fried Chicken, cheese and sausage gravy. Your cardiologist won't be happy, but your tastebuds sure will! Excellent coffee too. You will have to wait, so bring a newspaper or book.
