Description: Burwell's, a pioneer of the Modern Steakhouse, unites with specific farms and ranches, most recently forging a powerful relationship with Snake River Farms for its exotic cuts, butcher selects, and above prime grades. The Award-Winning, casual steakhouse serves local, seasonal ingredients and its nose-to-tail efforts made famous by the "Hot Rock" program have caused quite a stir. Toss in the local seafood and vegetables and you'll find out why they've been the best kept secret in Charleston. Indoor - Outdoor Dining. "There is no other steak like it!"

We spent New Year's Eve at this year-old restaurant and it was terrific! Husb had lamb and I had lobster and both were excellent. Husb also thoroughly enjoyed the fish stew soup. We were served by Caroline, who was cheerful, knowledgeable about the dishes and really added to our dining experience. The meal was reasonably priced considering the date.

Thanks Lynda,

Caroline is great and has been with us since we opened. I will share this with her as well. Our splash is usually with our guests and inside our own four walls since we are not one covered all over the paper. e just love what we do and have been doing it our entire lives.

We love when it all goes well, making your night a great one! Thank you.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. The steak was fabulous and the recommendations from the server were spot on. Good service and a good value as well when you compare to the other top steakhouses in Charleston.

Now here's a guest that knows their steaks. Value is what we love to hear since we know incredible steaks are not cheap. We try to find the very best we can and share that value with each and every guest. Thank you and your wife!

Sincerely,
Ken

I like that Burwells has a comfortable, come as you are feel for any occasion. I can sit solo at the bar with a glass of wine and happy hour appetizers or at a table with family and friends for the total Burwells dining experience. Steak is not something I go out for but Burwells is the exception. I’ve had the strip, fillet and on my most recent visit to Burwells I enjoyed the big bone-in Rib eye with brussel sprouts and parsnip mash and the recommended dao reserve wine was perfect. The service, weather at the bar or in the dining room, was proper. Michel, our bar server during happy hour, was very pleasant and attentive. The suggested crab cakes were incredible. We always request Alan for our dinner service and our cute little hostess made ready our table. On every occasion his service is just right on and we all agree. We look forward to seeing him on our next visit. I close this review by giving Burwells five out of five stars with a bonus star for those Charleston Smores!

Arrogance, indifference and inattention are not good attributes for bar staff anywhere. If it were not for this appalling weakness, Burwell's deserves FIVE STARS.
In addition to great steak house type food, wine and table service, Frank Puzzullo, a wonderful, veteran jazz pianist is usually on duty. Get a table in the restaurant area -- not the horrible bar -- as close to the piano as possible and enjoy Frank's jazz or catch him at the Newport Jazz Festival this ear. He is a national treasure.
The table service staff is first class, and the bartender would be well-advised to take a lesson from them.

We were in Charleston to see my son graduate from Naval nuclear power School. We wanted to take him somewhere nice. Burwell's fit the bill. Try the appetizer with ther 700 degree stone where you cook your meat right at the table...tasty and fun. Steak selection was good. my wife enjoyed the She-crab soup and the crab cakes were also very good. I don't think you can go wrong here.
