My girlfriend and I took a trip to Charleston and checked out what GroupOns were available before we left. Lowcountry Walking Tours was offering their tours at half-off so we figured we'd go for it. We took the Most Beautiful Walk Tour with Bill. It ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. We got in on a Thursday and took the tour on Friday afternoon. It was great to get out and see the sights and get oriented. I love history, my girlfriend not so much, but Bill's presentation even got her interested. You'll learn a lot about the city and its history and see the simple beauty the city has to offer. You won't go along the main strips of King or E Bay but you'll have plenty of time to check those out later. Take this tour to even out the time you spend in those places and get yourself oriented with the historic district that makes Charleston what it is today. Both Bill and the tour route get 5 stars. Don't let the walking part scare you, the whole city is flat and Bill will keep you in the shade and stop frequently to share his vast knowledge.

This is a great tour for learning how Charleston history affected the city today from founding to revolutionary war to civil war WWII to todays events. Bill doesn't just recite facts he story tells and expounds on subjects of history, architecture, food, and presents facts versus rumors. He was outstanding as our guide providing a full range of knowledge. You could ask him anything and he knew. He (former history teacher) has done his homework to provide the most educational and entertaining tour possible. The walk is pleasant and sets your bearings for your own exploring (as opposed to riding in a carriage or bus).

I would tour again with Bill.

My GF and I took the French Qtr tour on 7/14 and we both loved it! Bill is very knowledgeable and a great guy to boot. It was just the 2 of us on the tour but he took his time as if the tour was full. He started out by explaining the history of Charleston and showed us laminated pictures to help with his presentation. Then we walked for about 1 1/2 hours stopping often to see historical sites and take pictures. Bill is a retired history teacher and you can tell he really loves what he's doing. His passion, knowledge, etc was fantastic. We passed several othe walking tours on our route but I can't imagine they were any better. Plus we had a Groupon so it was a phenominal deal. Do not miss this tour!

We loved our "Most Beautiful Walk" through Charleston with Bill. We had enjoyed strolling through these neighborhoods on our own during a previous visit but it just isn't as much fun with out all the fascinating details that bring the beautiful old homes to life. Bill had a bagful of colorful stories and I especially appreciated the old photographs he had gleaned for SC archives that helped me see how time and events had changed the scenery. Bill is funny, engaging and prides himself on accuracy, excellent qualities in a tour guide!

We went on a historical downtown walking tour with Bill and it couldn't have been better. He was so pleasant, told us so many little trivia details including the fun fact at Philadelphia Alley Darius Rucker's video being shot there (which our 19 year old daughter thought was cool).
It was obvious he loves history and he does explain that was his previous profession teaching history.
Our tour was extra special also because it was just the three of us and 2 other people so it was very personable. He even asked if it was all right if he went a little over the time allowed, which of course was wonderful for us. Seeing some other tours around sometimes there were more than 20 people!
Definitely ask for Bill. We wanted to stay all day with him!
