Description: SIMPLY LOWCOUNTRY: Lowcountry Bistro focuses only on the freshest ingredients since all of the food we cook is from scratch. On the menu you will find cult favorites like Chicken and Waffles to Lowcountry classics like Shrimp and Grits. We also believe that great food can be affordable. Many of our lunch dishes are under $10. Our goal as a restaurant is to serve high quality, delicious food, at a fair price. We hope you agree after your meal at Lowcountry Bistro. SISTER RESTAURANT TO 82 QUEEN As an icon of the city for over 30 years, we have seen restaurants come and go. We pride ourselves on the fact that we were one of the first original Lowcountry cuisine restaurants to open their doors in the city. We know Lowcountry and after diligently researching Market Street restaurants, have come to the conclusion that what the area needs is a true, authentic Lowcountry restaurant.

I went in with low expectations for some reason, and was so pleasantly surprised! Loved my meal; it was delicious! (Rosemary glazed pork tenderloin) Loved our waiter, Eric! And staff member, Brian was very nice as well :) hopefully will be back to try the chicken and waffles!

Located right on Market street the outside this restaurant has a lot more to offer than it appears. The ground floor dining room looks very small but upstairs you have the choice of a larger inside dining room or outside on the balcony. We chose the balcony. The Shrimp and Grits is unique and fantastic. The two grit cakes are buttery great, topped with a fried green tomato and very large shrimp and a tomato type sauce that is great. The Tasso gravy and grilled cornbread cakes were a delicious surprise. During the brunch on Saturdays and Sundays they have a bottomless Mimosa deal for $12. Service was great and friendly. You can go shop at the market or take a carridge ride and then eat here. We did all three.

This was one of few open on the July 4th eve so our choices were limited. The food was above average, the server was pleasant but not well trained. The price to food quality ratio was 7 out of 10. If you sit outside be sure to sit towards the front as the back houses the exhaust fans for the kitchen and is noisy and smells like kitchen exhaust. We asked to be reseated and they accomodated very quickly.

My wife got the Chicken and Waffles and said it was the best chicken and waffles she has ever had. There are so many great restaurants down here that it's hard to hit them all. If you have time, stop on in here!

We arrived with a party of 9 and were seated immediately. The hostess and waitress were extremely pleasant. We had a leisurely dinner with the finest seafood dinners we have had in recent memory. The crab stuffed flounder and grouper were wonderfully seasoned....highly recommended. Portions were appropriate. Prices were a little higher than I expected, but par for the area I suppose. Still very much worth it. Would definitely return.
