Description: SIMPLY LOWCOUNTRY: Lowcountry Bistro focuses only on the freshest ingredients since all of the food we cook is from scratch. On the menu you will find cult favorites like Chicken and Waffles to Lowcountry classics like Shrimp and Grits. We also believe that great food can be affordable. Many of our lunch dishes are under $10. Our goal as a restaurant is to serve high quality, delicious food, at a fair price. We hope you agree after your meal at Lowcountry Bistro. SISTER RESTAURANT TO 82 QUEEN As an icon of the city for over 30 years, we have seen restaurants come and go. We pride ourselves on the fact that we were one of the first original Lowcountry cuisine restaurants to open their doors in the city. We know Lowcountry and after diligently researching Market Street restaurants, have come to the conclusion that what the area needs is a true, authentic Lowcountry restaurant.

Shrimp and grits were good. It is well located. I think a great place for lunch. They are trying to re-purpose southern dishes into a more unusual presentation.

We dined here for lunch based on a very strong recommendation from the hotel housekeeper. Both of us had the shrimp and fried green tomato po' boy and she crab soup (market street- choose your soup and sandwich for $14). You are served a bowl of soup and bag of oyster crackers. You have your choice of homemade potato chips or cold sweet potato salad. Everything is excellent, but a lot of food so come hungry.

Just near the market place, I loved the freshness of the local produce and the perfect blend of spices. Large paintings on the walls lent to the atmosphere. The greens were good too.

Don't go gourmet here, although the cocoa chili dusted filet with blackberry wine sauce was excellent, I was jealous of my hubby's chicken and waffles. Brined tasty tender fried chicken with pecan glaze over a sweet potato waffle. You must try this dish! The restaurant itself is basic downtown bistro with a nice outdoor second floor porch, which is was too cool to sit at when we visited. Service was very friendly and helpful. Menu had many interesting choices, mix of gourmet dishes and Southern/Low Country favorites.
