“Charleston at its best”
Reviewed December 9, 2013

Two Meeting St. is the quintessential Charleston Hotel that embodies all the grace and charm of Charleston at it its height. The rooms are spacious and the period and antique furniture complete a perfect lodging experience. It is centrally located and the staff is excellent.

This was the latest of several trips to Charleston for us this past weekend. Once again, we stayed at Two Meeting Street and once again, it was great! We stayed in the Williams Room which was lovely. The Inn was decorated for the Holidays and it was absolutely spectacular! The staff and the owners, The Spells, treated us like family. We've had friends from California and New Jersey also stay at the Inn and they also raved about the service and the wonderful breakfast each morning. The location is perfect near The Battery. I highly recommend this place for a great romantic getaway.

I booked this Inn on line and saw the pictures but never expected what we saw when we arrived. It was more then I had anticipated. We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and my 70th birthday and they truly came through with everything we had planned starting with tours and restaurants. The breakfasts were to die for. The staff couldn't do enough for you. We purchased a picture that we have hanging on our wall of the Inn. I'm sure we will never forget it but when I look at it I have to smile because it was so beautiful and a place we will cherish forever.

We stayed at Two Meeting Street in July 2013 as part of our 2nd anniversary trip (2nd time around for both of us). The staff were friendly and helpful, always at the ready if you wanted something. The house is gorgeous with an abundance of fine glassware and decorations. Breakfast was modest but flavorful. The porch is a wonderful place to spend some quiet time in the morning or evening--but watch out for mosquitos if you're sensitive to them. We stayed in the Music Room on the first floor and it was very comfortable, but we were awoken around 7:30 or so each morning as people started to come down for breakfast or check out. Stay upstairs if you want to sleep in! The Inn is located at the end of the Battery--a perfect location and a decent walk into town if you're walkers.

Nope! 2 Mtg. St. Inn is the real deal and worth every cent. Yes, it resides in the top location in Charleston. Yes, it is a mansion that possesses the character of the time period in which it was built. Yes, Tripadvisor ranks it the #3 B&B in historic Charleston.

However, the aforementioned is not the main reason for confirming the Inn's worthiness. Rather, it is the quality of the staff that drives the popularity of this inn. From the time you enter the mansion it is clear this staff has been superbly trained. They are well groomed, polite and have anticipated your every need. In addition, you will be impressed by the attention to detail not often found at any level of this industry.

The reason for the preceding staff attributes will be confirmed once you meet the owner, Jean Spell, who for the past 25 years has given unselfishly of herself to ensure the 2 Mtg. experience will exceed your expectations. Enjoy

My wife and I made reservations months in advance and our stay here was wonderful. The staff that greeted our arrival, served tea in the afternoon, and provided a southern breakfast in the morning were very accommodating and friendly. The Inn could not have been in a more picturesque location - on the battery looking through a park to the bay. If you wanted to walk around the area at night, it was very safe because it's residential south of Broad Street however, street lighting was not that good. There was no noise to hear in the evening which made for a quiet and relaxing evening; our bedroom on the third floor, #7, was very comfortable. The only regret we had was spending only one day/night here. Next time we will stay multiple nights.

Room Tip: Higher priced room on lower and second floors.

We have stayed in quite a few bed & breakfasts but this was by far THE BEST EXPERIENCE we've ever had. Don't hesitate to stay here. EVERYONE treated us like we were royalty. The food was amazing. It's SO good you want the recipes, which they are willing to share! The location is perfect, close enough to walk to town, yet far away enough to be peaceful. We LOVED the people as much as we loved staying there. The rooms are beautiful. You won't want to leave!!!!!

Room Tip: All the rooms are terrific.
