Our main interest was the historic area of Charleston. The location was perfect, right at the market, with most areas of interest within walking distance, which was the idea. The Inn property was elegant, perfecty maintained and beautifully decorated. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and very well appointed with turn down service, robes and all the personal needs. The best part of the experience was the staff. We cannot say enough about the professionalism, courtesy and effort put forth by everyone associated with the Inn. We were made feel like both a pampered guest and family at the same time. In addition to all the fine resturants nearby we found that champagne at check-in, a fine continental breakfast each morning, wine and cheese in the afternoons and milk and cookies in the evenings, all complimentary, could be hard on your waistline. All in all we had wonderful time touring Charleston made special by the folks at the French Quarter Inn.

Two years ago, my husband and I stayed in the French Quarter Inn and wrote a review. The only thing we found wanting then was that there was no safe in the room. We just went back and guess what? They had a safe in the room! So our experience was perfect. The rooms were spacious and comfortable (I especially appreciated the choice in pillows), and the people -- from the front desk to the doormen -- were exceptionally accommodating. We were also impressed with the evening wine and cheese, which was relatively sophisticated for a complementary offering. Also, the location is perfect. If you are looking for a comfortable boutique hotel with great service in a central location, this is definitely it.

About a year ago we started a renovation process that included adding an armoire to each room that is equipped with a 40” flat screen TV, Blu-Ray/DVD Player, mini-refrigerators, and yes the safes. Many of our return guests have thoroughly enjoyed these new additions and we are pleased you have also. We are always striving to ensure each guest enjoys every minute of their stay and are pleased to know that we were successful with you and your husband. Hopefully your next visit is sooner than 2 years, but if not we look forward to welcoming you then.

We just returned from our stay at the French Quarter Inn. The location was PERFECT! You are two blocks (or less) from the best restaurants, the pier, Market Street, and carriage rides.
The room was very clean and nicely decorated. There was ample storage and the flat screen was a plus. The bathroom was large and also very clean. You can go down to the lobby area for breakfast or room service will bring it to your room. The breakfast was excellent - lots of good choices: cereal, muffins, pasteries, teas, fruit, granola bars, bagels, coffee, tea, juices...it was a great way to start the day!
After walking all over the city, it was nice to come back, freshen up, and enjoy the wine and cheese in the late afternoon. We sat mostly on their patio where there was a soothing water fountain and covered patio tables. After dinner, they always had cookies and coffee out for guests. We were also given little boxes of Kilwin's chocolates during turndown service. It's all these little extras that make you feel pampered and it gives you a feeling that you are a welcomed guest. I think that is why so many people have commented on these same things. The housekeeping staff was very pleasant and always friendly.
The concierge was very helpful and made all of our dinner reservations. Service was just perfect. Nothing was lacking. We enjoyed our stay and were more than happy with our accomodations.
I know this is minor, but I hate it when you can hear the doors slamming shut from other people going in and out of their room. This was not the case at this hotel and I was very pleased that I could rarely tell if people were coming or going. The hotel never seems crowded and it had a very relaxing atmosphere.
I would not hesitate to stay here. You will be happy you did. We hope to return in another year or two and the French Quarter Inn is where we will stay.

The French Quarter Inn has a wonderful location near the Market and the restaurants. The rooms were clean, the bathroom was huge, and the hotel was very quiet. We had an Executive king suite which included a computer and fax/printer. The rooms also had a fridge and safe. Just outside the room in the hall was a cart with coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. Drinks were also available in the lobby. The wine and cheese reception included several wines (merlot, cabernet, white zinfandel, pinot grigio, and chardonnay), cheeses (cheddar, swiss, pepper jack), crackers, and fruit. The complimentary breakfast included yogurt, fruit, bagels, pastries, juices, and coffee. The evening cookies and milk included 4 or 5 types of cookies.

The main negative was the price. We paid $349 for our room plus $17 for valet parking. The other negative was that the wireless was very slow.
