My wife and I were first time visitors to Charleston and, thanks to Trip Advisor reviews, were aware that there was an outstanding concierge at this Courtyard in the historic district . . . so we thought to try it out. Best decision we could have made. We called several days ahead to contact "chief concierge" Kevin McQuade, letting him know that we were hoping to learn more about Charleston's link to the past (and, of course, a restaurant recommendation or two). He did not disappoint and set us up with a terrific walking tour of historic Charleston, along with a very good harbor tour and several excellent restaurant selections. But the most memorable experience come on our last night in town when we joined one other couple (mother and daughter) as Kevin personally led us on a two hour "after dark" walking tour of Charleston's historic residential area which provided an entirely different and unexpected, not to mention beautiful, perspective of a part of Charleston not normally seen by tourists. It was wonderful and certainly the highlight of our visit. So, we would give the Courtyard Charleston Historic District our highest possible recommendation and point out to those reading this review that the only way to engage the services of this outstanding concierge is to reserve a stay at this location. You won't be disappointed.More
