This hotel should triple or at least double Kevin McQuade's salary. He knows everything about Charleston and is dedicated to making sure each guest is happy. We read prior reviews on tripadvisor and called Kevin in advance of our trip. He made an appointment to talk to me and my husband on the telephone and asked about our interests and types of food we liked. He arranged several historical tours - a walking tour with Ed Macy and a Gullah Tour (on bus) of African-American historical sites. Both were great. We also went on a private boat trip to an island with a lighthouse with Captain Gresh. It was incredibly beautiful - lots of shore birds, a dolphin jumping up alongside the boat and a beach accessible only by boat. Kevin recommended terrific restaurants, including Trattoria Lucca, which we never would have found on our own.
Kevin seems to work all the time and his desk is always busy, but he still managed to take us on a private tour at night.
Kevin convinced us to add a day to our stay , and we were glad that we did. He made all of our tour and restaurant reservations and even changed some when we added a day. We trusted Kevin's recommendations, and everything worked out great. He really made our stay special.More
