My wife, daughter and I were fortunate enough to have a tour all to ourself given by Anne Middleton Herron. We were impressed with her knowledge down to the smallest detail. There wasn't a question relating to the history of Charleston that she couldn't answer. We especially enjoyed the way Anne engaged us throughout the tour with Trivia questions. But what made this tour the most memorable was how accommodating Anne was with our 15 month old daughter. We had no choice but to bring her along and Anne was completely patient yet capable of delivering a flawless tour.

“Colonial Walking Tours, Charleston, SC”

We were lucky enough to get a personal walking tour of Charleston by Martha, a 13th generation Charlestonian and descendant of the Middleton family. It was a Sunday morning and we were the only ones who had signed up for this tour. We recommend going on this tour as the first activity you do in Charleston in order to get your bearings and to learn of the history of this beautiful and historic city. Martha has a wealth of knowledge of this city not only from history but also from her own personal and childhood memories growing up. Highly recommend.

“Wonderful experience”

If you have never experienced this, you have got to try it. I've been to Charleston countless times and I learned more on this 2+ hour tour than I had learned in the past 35 years. The tour is usually given by Ane Middleton Herron. But this day, Anne was replaced by her capable sister, Martha. She was extremely knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. I would highly recommend this to anyone, even a local!

We stayed a day after the Labor Day weekend was over so most of the crowds were gone. We only had four in our group which was very nice. Martha was our guide for the morning and we really enjoyed her enthusiasm and knowledge of the area. She is 13th generation as well and grew up in Charleston. We visit Charleston often and have done the carriage tours (which are great) and walked all over old town. There are a lot of little alleyways and hidden spaces. Martha showed us some things that we didn't know we're there. She is a wealth of knowledge about Charleston and we highly recommend the tour.

Thanks Martha!

We didn't have much time to explore Charleston, so this tour was perfect! It was a great way to learn all about the history of Charleston in a short period of time. Our tour guide was awesome and knew a lot of little fun facts that we really enjoyed! The tour ended with us getting to see kind of behind the scenes of all the beautiful homes. We got to sit in her parent's garden and enjoy some lemonade! I am very glad we took this tour and I would definitely recommend it!
