It is usually crowded but because of the construction it was pretty empty. Since the sea wall is under construction, you can not drive all the way down to the battery, nor can you walk the entire way.

Lots of beautiful trees, walkways and benches for resting. Right on the water, very pleasant
We enjoyed the families walking through. One family was flying a kite.
My favorite feature of the park was the beautiful Palmetto Fountain. I loved the sign that gave permission to actually get into the fountain (of course there were some rules). There are a lot of nice restaurants close by.
Worth the time out to enjoy nature.

After church on Sunday, my husband and I decided to spend the afternoon at White Point Gardens. What started out to be a couple of hours, ended up being 4 hours. We loved sitting in the swing, watching the boats go by and gazing at the endless blue water. The flowers were starting to bloom and it was a relaxing paradise.

We visited on a rainy day (drizzle) but it was still great. If you like photos bring a camera. I recommend walking shoes so you can take a tour at your leisure. Truly walk Charleston's historic district. It will take hours buts it's so cool.

There is so much to learn of colonial times, the war for independence and the civil war period, and afterwards... This is one of those spots on earth where events were destined to be repeated. It is also wonderful to walk beneath the spanish oaks, looking at the confluence of rivers out to the ocean.
