The park is ho-hum, but who's looking. The view is awesome. Add in the history and a trip to Charleston isn't complete without a trip to the Battery. Parking can be challenging, however.

Well worth a visit. Loved the view and the park and the surrounding neighborhood. Within walking distance of most downtown hotels.

Went there on a cold (low 40's deg F) morning to see the sunrise. Beautiful park, and the walk on Bay St there before most people are up, as the sun is coming out is just fabulous. Street parking (free at that hour) was easy to find. Saw a few runners, people walking their dogs, all of whch provides a good sense of the place. Would highly recommend walking around there early morning.

As the title says this is a great place to watch the sunset. It reminded me of both Forsyth park in Savannah and Mallory Square in Key West.
The park is dog friendly which is a plus but not everyone picks up after them so watch your step

This is a great place to go for a stroll and to look around. It is truly impressive. I did not realize that Charleston was one of only three, three-walled cities in North America.
