Description: Occupying adjacent spaces on Queen Street, Husk’s structures date back to the late 1800s. The main dining room, constructed in 1893, evokes the grandeur of Charleston, and speaks to the transformation of the city over time. Victorian details and turned columns were layered over the original Queen Anne-style façade through the years, and the buildings fell into disrepair until discovered by Husk ownership. The Neighborhood Dining Group President David Howard set into a motion an extensive remodeling effort of both. Although both buildings retain their antique charm and stately character, the renovations imbued each with a modern, minimalist theme. Like the reinterpreted food served within, each space has been laid bare, revealing reclaimed floors, original windows, and exposed brick throughout. The main house features an open kitchen with a wood-burning oven and dining room.

wonderfull meal , nice size appetizers, excellent atmosphere.Okay really weird, but I had to try the deep fried tiny sliced pigs ears- I am killing the description, they were SOOO GOOD. Pickeled something on top of tiny sliced pig ear, super cruchy severed as a lettuce wrap with a sweet sauce something on top. Oh the smoked wings were great- allot to share. Skip the smoked bacon, not worth the money, just curly smoked bacon on a plate. We sat where there was a wall of glass partition with artsy vases to watch the chefs at work.

We learned about Sean Brock, the chef/owner of Husk by watching a PBS series entities "Mind of a Chef." Based on his appearance in that series we decided to try Husk the next time we were in Charleston. We were not disappointed. Sean places extreme emphasis on the suppliers of the ingredients he uses, and it shows. I enjoyed the pigs ear starter, followed by the best duck confit I have ever consumed. The wine list is eclectic, but I found a 2001 Rijoa Gran Riserva (a Parker 96 point wine) that was fabulous, and reasonably priced. Definitely worth a trip to Charleston!

We could not get in for dinner so we went for lunch. We had crispy pig ear wraps-omg! Crispy fried and sliced ears with onion and a semi spicy sauce in a lettuce wrap. First time for me. Best thing I ate so far in Charleston. The cheeseburger is ground beef and ground bacon with mustard- these two things stay on their menu year round. Don't miss this place!

Casual but refined atmosphere. Wonderful menu items and the food lives up to it. Such inventive takes on southern classics. Some of the best oysters/champagne I've ever had. Great wine selection as well. Just adore and always look forward to coming back.
