Owner description: Enchanting historic Charleston comes alive on entertaining and informative walking tours with 7th-generation Charleston native Michael Trouche. Discover stunning architecture, glorious gardens, Civil and Revolutionary War sites, cobblestone streets, wrought iron gates, legendary graveyards, and the local flavor of the fabled “Holy City” that no one knows better than Michael, who grew up in the famous "South of Broad" area, and has written two popular books on Charleston, where his family has lived for more than 215 years. Michael won numerous prestigious awards as host of the acclaimed "Carolina Camera" television program for 20 years on the local Charleston CBS affiliate, and has charmed tour guests for 10 years with his unparalleled knowledge of South Carolina's history, culture, plants and animals, as well as colorful insights, locations and anecdotes that only a lifelong Charleston native would truly know.

“I’m So Glad We Did This!”
Reviewed January 19, 2014

As others have mentioned, there are many walking tours available in Charleston and it will be blindly apparent when you go to meet up with Michael for your allotted time. You may have to step aside several times during your tour through this beautiful city, so that those others can pass by.
I wasn’t sure whether or not our two teenage family members were going to enjoy this or not, but they loved it! Well, having a couple of candy bars in my pocketbook helped some with that too.
Thank you once again Michael.

“Charleston's Best Walking Tour”
Reviewed January 16, 2014

Michael does a fantastic job of mixing history and personal experiences while guiding everyone through the city, showing off its architecture and heritage. His theater background comes out, both in his enthusiasm and his ability to project so everyone could easily hear him. He entertains along the way and was willing to answer any questions with ease. This has to be the best walking tour for Charleston!

“100% must do for Charleston!”
Reviewed January 15, 2014

Michael of Charleston Foot Prints Tours is the best tour guide we have had of any city/town. He knows the history and the history of the history. Being an Actor he is very well spoken and puts a funny and entertaining twist on his tour and tales. Every question was thoroughly answered and the tour was good fun. 100% must do when you visit Charleston.

“Fun, funny, and super informative”
Reviewed January 8, 2014

Michael Trouche, our tour guide, is a seventh generation Charleston native. He has a deep knowledge of Charleston history. His tour was filled with engaging narrative and he kept the walk moving at a lively pace. He shared his vast knowledge of history, people, plants and events interspersed with anecdotes and humor. This was the best tour, by far, that we have taken. We would highly recommend Charleston Footprints Tour.
