We happened upon this little cafe on our first night in Charleston and ducked in because it was close to our hotel and more casual. What a fabulous meal! Everything very fresh, not ludicrously expensive and a great atmosphere. We were only sad that we didn't get a chance to come back and enjoy lunch another day. Highly recommend!

Okay, so my husband and I go to unwind at this place. Next thing you know, the OWNER, Robbin Kattas, treats us like royalty...not kidding! And then, this darling little waitress appears out of nowhere to make our evening better, and her name is Aniko, from Hungary! We happen to be ethnic Hungarians, and our kind, sweet waitress is a Hungarian by the name of Aniko! YAY!!! We have the best connection with her, the best organic coffee, the best wine list; need we say more??? These guys not only know what they're doing (hint: you'll have a fantabulous experience), but they also provide quality!!! When you order an appetizer, get the gorgonzola/fig appetizer. It's a delight!!! Trust us!!! Thanks a million Robbin & Aniko!!! :-)

We have been coming to Charleston for years ! It has become a tradition for our family to visit The East Bay Meeting House once we arrive, but we have found ourselves visiting the wonderful little cafe almost on a daily basis ! The atmosphere, its employees, and the owner work in unison to create a relaxing and comfertable experience ! As you sit at the open doors looking at the beautiful architecture, you cant help but to feel that this is what life is all about ! Everone smiles and you feel like family ! But Vacation is only so long ! And we must leave ! As we return to the hustle and bustle of our fast paced world, we find ourselves dreaming of Charleston Sc. And the wonderful little cafe called the ( East Bay Meeting House Bar & Cafe ) Our hearts are there, and we will return !!!

Stopped in for drinks and dessert. Quiet music and good food. Excellent unrushed service as you would find in France. We intend to go back during our stay for breakfast and/or lunch as well as another later evening break.

Oh Boy. What a cool little corner lounge space in Charleston’s historic Port area.

Breakfast menu promised Quiche and Stratas—only two hot items.

Costco outdoor patio furniture indoors with candle in the umbrella hole should have been a clue.

Waitress was defensively unaware of the (two hot item) menu when I ordered the ($8.95) ham, Portobello mushroom and cheddar quiche, she scowled--until she read the exact same verbiage back to me.

What arrived was the exact Costco frozen cocktail quiche 2.5” that come by the boxload ripe for the microwave at our favorite big box store, I could not believe it. As challenging as this dish is to execute, our intrepid East Bay Team failed, alas. My mini-quiche was cold. Microwave to the rescue and I was instantly presented with a new one. Food cost estimated at 50 cents, labor cost nil…. Customer satisfaction level…. INCREDULOUS????

Server was sweet if clueless and detached, (recent retail store layoff perhaps?) but coffee was good. And I loved the oil painting on the wall. But please…

With such a nice room to work with, it is disappointing to be a hopeful, naïve victim of this fraudulent “restaurant”. I should be more savvy. Guess we were more hungry than smart. We were respectful and kept a cheerful outlook throughout. But, Shame on the shameless perpetrator. Darn!
