Description: Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar opened in 2009, reviving the former Amen name of Cumberland Street and restoring this historic corner. The new renovation stays true to the beauty of the original 1800's architecture while creating a comfortable atmosphere for contemporary life. Located at 205 East Bay Street in the heart of the historic district this Charleston seafood restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining all within walking distance of the local Market and the Charleston Harbor. The menu includes a variety of seafood dishes such as oysters, clams and shrimp in addition to an ever growing raw bar menu. Amen Street supports Charleston's local fishing industry with market fresh fish. We are open for lunch and dinner. Walk-ins are welcome and reservations are accepted as well.

It was crowded so we sat at the bar. The bartender was great. I had an excellent Bloody Mary. He kept things moving at the bar, and was attentive to all. My husband and I had raw oysters, fried green tomatoes, she crab soup and a po boy sandwich. All were delicious.
I prefer cream of crab soup (thicker) to she crab but when in Rome.....

I highly recommend this place. Make a reservation if u want to sit at a table.

Thank you for dining with us at Amen Street. We are glad you enjoyed Bloody Mary and cuisine, Our restaurant tables do fill up rather quickly, so making a reservation is not required, but would definitely help. We are thrilled that you would recommend us to others and hope to serve you again sometime!

I won't call it a 'trap' because all the restaurants in that area seem to be built around tourism... which is why I think the prices could be a little high for the portions. But I really enjoyed it, and would not mind saying the taste of the food is also what made me wish the portions were bigger. The Fried Green Tomatoes appetizer (4) came with pickled okra and a pimento sauce. Nice touch, and very tasty. Shrimp & Grits entre very good. I was surprised they don't serve any type of bread with the meal, but personable waitress had them slice and toast some French baget for me. Though it was Happy Hour, you could only get HH prices if seated at the bar. I'm used to the discount being restaurant/bar wide. I won't go flying back, but would not discourage you from trying it.

This is a place that we go to often when we are in Charleston. I like it for lunch. The menu is pure Lowcountry, fresh local ingredients, good wine list and attentive service. There were 8 of us which can be overwhelming for a server, but not a problem at all. Our glasses were replenished frequently, the food all came out at the same time and we were not rushed. It's convenient as well, close to the Market and King St. shopping.

There isn't anything to dislike about this restaurant! We asked a shopkeeper where she likes to eat and this was one of her recommendations. The highlight of our experience was the selection of fresh fish and the choice of three different preparations. Everything was so fresh and delicious. The she-crab soup was divine too!

Second time at Amen St and both meals have us so impressed. The seared scallops are prepared perfectly, the calamari app is delicious and best anywhere. Wife had Flash in the Pan which was lighter and wonderful too. Can't go wrong at Amen. Seashell chandeliers and rich wood interior with inviting bar.
