Description: Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar opened in 2009, reviving the former Amen name of Cumberland Street and restoring this historic corner. The new renovation stays true to the beauty of the original 1800's architecture while creating a comfortable atmosphere for contemporary life. Located at 205 East Bay Street in the heart of the historic district this Charleston seafood restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining all within walking distance of the local Market and the Charleston Harbor. The menu includes a variety of seafood dishes such as oysters, clams and shrimp in addition to an ever growing raw bar menu. Amen Street supports Charleston's local fishing industry with market fresh fish. We are open for lunch and dinner. Walk-ins are welcome and reservations are accepted as well.

“Good Food but for High Downtown Prices”
Reviewed February 1, 2014

So overall the food here was excellent. I loved the oysters, the sheepshead fish pan seared was great, the lobster and shrimp risotto was well done and the mussels were fantastic. We each had a house specialty cocktail but passed on dessert. Two people, and the bill came to around $125 for dinner. Now that's not too bad for 2 apps, 2 drinks and 2 entrees if they were all just top notch and I left full. I really didn't and in the end felt like Amen St. offered me very little bang for my buck.
The service was a little slow in the beginning and despite being friendly, wasn't very attentive overall.

“Fantastic oysters”
Reviewed January 28, 2014

If you want some of the best oysters in town, this is the place. We got a dozen each and in that there were two of six different kinds. These were some of the best I have had in some time. Pearlz is really good, but this place is great.

“Very good food, but skimpy for the price”
Reviewed January 25, 2014

After we ate there we realized that they created the South Carolina State Drink? The food was great and the waitress delightful, but the portions of the meal were skimpy for the price.

“Atmosphere's Great! Oysters are better!!”
Reviewed January 25, 2014

Stopped by today for a quick lunch while walking the streets of Charleston. Got seated quickly at the bar and service was great. Ordered a dozen oysters on the half shell and were some of the best I have had!! Also ordered a plate of the grilled sheepshead fish with fried okra. Well the fish was ok, but I've never had sheepshead before. I should have gotten the trout. Nevertheless, the fried okra was awesome! Reasonably priced and the people were really nice!

“Great bar & food”
Reviewed January 23, 2014

On a recent trip to Charleston S.C. we went to Amen Street fish & raw bar for Happy Hour. The guy shucking the oysters was really cool and attentive. The dozen oysters for $8.95 was hard to beat. There were many other selections on the menu but the house oysters were good to me. The calamari appetizer was the best I have ever had any where. $2.00 Juengling draft is hard to beat. The keg did run out & was not replaced, but things happen.Overall a great place.Only regret is that I did not stay for dinner.
