Description: Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar opened in 2009, reviving the former Amen name of Cumberland Street and restoring this historic corner. The new renovation stays true to the beauty of the original 1800's architecture while creating a comfortable atmosphere for contemporary life. Located at 205 East Bay Street in the heart of the historic district this Charleston seafood restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining all within walking distance of the local Market and the Charleston Harbor. The menu includes a variety of seafood dishes such as oysters, clams and shrimp in addition to an ever growing raw bar menu. Amen Street supports Charleston's local fishing industry with market fresh fish. We are open for lunch and dinner. Walk-ins are welcome and reservations are accepted as well.

“Great, great, great”

Another Charleston favorite of ours... We've never had a bad meal here. The service is always exemplary. If you like the raw this is the place.

“Amen To This Being One of My Favorites”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

My first stop when in Charleston is Amen Street for fried green tomatoes with pickled okra and pimento cheese. In June I also had the best fried oysters I've eaten in years. Pssst: My eleven-year-old granddaughter also enjoys this place.

“Perfect Find Downtown!”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

This is exactly what we were looking for - We always ask for a restaurant recommendation when visiting from out of town. We were given several from the employees at the Marriott - usually we look for something other than the obvious. Our shuttle driver was giving us his on the way downtown - as we were riding by he mentioned Amen Street was a "casual, white tablecloth" spot. Right away that caught my attention - We looked at the menu but decided to at least look at the other spot he suggested. Immediately turned around and made our way back to Amen St. We did not have reservations but we found a spot at the bar right away. Actually one of our favorite ways to try out a new spot - full menu available. Yummy drinks to start the evening by bartender Kerrie while admiring the interior - lots of windows on a corner building with high, beamed ceilings, brick walls and heavy wood trim. Started with she-crab soup - delicious!! Enjoyed the berry salad - a perfect mix of flavors, crab cakes filled with crab and the baked oysters were so good we ordered more. We will certainly go back to Amen Street on our next visit to the Charleston Area. Highly Recommended...

“Best Shrimp and Grits”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

I was craving shrimp and grits and these were the best! The portion was a nice size and they were able to make it with no pork which was a plus since many places I called said no. I will say that I liv sundried tomatoes that was a plus for me. If you do not you maybe dissapointed. The price was about $18.00 which was a good deal.

“The Best Shrimp and Grits”
Reviewed June 29, 2013

Nice bar-nicely lit, nice high ceilings and wood. Bar tenders attentive. Drinks were cold, well made, and reasonably priced. We ended up ordering our dinner there. Good salad with candied walnuts, blue cheese; and excellent shrimp and grits--Heavenly! I went back the next night to get them again :) Priced well at $18 versus more $ at comparable nearby.
