Description: Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar opened in 2009, reviving the former Amen name of Cumberland Street and restoring this historic corner. The new renovation stays true to the beauty of the original 1800's architecture while creating a comfortable atmosphere for contemporary life. Located at 205 East Bay Street in the heart of the historic district this Charleston seafood restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining all within walking distance of the local Market and the Charleston Harbor. The menu includes a variety of seafood dishes such as oysters, clams and shrimp in addition to an ever growing raw bar menu. Amen Street supports Charleston's local fishing industry with market fresh fish. We are open for lunch and dinner. Walk-ins are welcome and reservations are accepted as well.

“Best oysters, razor baked!”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

We sat at the bar for lunch......both days we were in town. It was fun watching the lusters being shucked.....what an art!.....and they were deliciously fresh. And the baked oysters were impeccable.....best sauce I've ever tasted!!

“Great seafood and romantic atmosphere”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

My boyfriend and I ate here based on Trip Advisor, Yelp, and Urban Spoon reviews. We were glad we called to make a reservation because the only available time was 8:30 pm (we called in the afternoon). We split a 1/2 dozen variety of oysters recommended by the waitress and they were delicious; very fresh! We would have had more but we wanted to save room for our entrees. My boyfriend had a cup of the she-crab soup and the flash-in-the-pan pirlau. I had the seasonal fresh fish (tuna). All were delicious. We wanted to split the berry cobbler but they ran out so we had the berry bread pudding, which was very good! Our waitress was knowledgeable, friendly without being overly pushy, and our water was constantly refilled. Definitely try this place for a nice date evening as it is a little bit more spendy.

“Unexpected surprise”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

I did not see any reviews about Amen before our visit and this was recommended by our peddle cab driver and it was perfect for lunch. We had just gotten off a harbor cruise and were trying to figure out where to eat when we spotted the peddle cab. We had another restaurant in mind when we started but he suggested Amen and we took him up on it and we were glad we did!

It was about 2:00 so it was not too busy. We were immediately greeted by 2 young hostesses with big, bright smiles and they seated us promptly at a large comfortable leather booth. We loved the exposed brick in the restaurant along with the long wooden bar.

Two of us ordered fish tacos, shared a beat salad and the other had the fried fish plated which was divine. Great service, good energy, fabulous food, loved the decor and just a wonderful surprise!

“Great Oysters, Enjoyable Atmosphere”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

This is a relatively new restaurant in Charleston and has an informal atmosphere with heavy emphasis on sea food. I am not a big oyster eater but there broad selection of oysters makes for a delectable experience. My spouse and I enjoyed a seasonal selection of tile fish that also was excellent. Service was top notch and the server was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would return to this restaurant for their other entrees when in town.

Friendly staff, food was good. A little cramped in space so if you want to be romantic dinner this might not be the place.
