Description: Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar opened in 2009, reviving the former Amen name of Cumberland Street and restoring this historic corner. The new renovation stays true to the beauty of the original 1800's architecture while creating a comfortable atmosphere for contemporary life. Located at 205 East Bay Street in the heart of the historic district this Charleston seafood restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining all within walking distance of the local Market and the Charleston Harbor. The menu includes a variety of seafood dishes such as oysters, clams and shrimp in addition to an ever growing raw bar menu. Amen Street supports Charleston's local fishing industry with market fresh fish. We are open for lunch and dinner. Walk-ins are welcome and reservations are accepted as well.

“Creative, delicious, unique”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 4, 2013

We've been to Amen Street twice for lunch on our regular visits to Charleston. The food is always fresh, presented creatively and really tasty. On our recent visit we had Peach Bellini cocktails followed by tuna over risotto with a superb chow chow and grouper with a similar presentation. This was followed by a to-die-for blueberry bread pudding that had hot blueberries in the pudding and fresh blueberries over the top. The service was great and the pricing is friendly. The atmosphere is nice -- an older building with nice furnishing and a unique way of presenting art on the walls. Lots of nice light from large windows and a convenient location make this an ideal place to dine.

“Try Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar for lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 2, 2013

We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday after going out for a walk around the old part of the city. We were promptly seated. The staff was right there to take our drink and food order. I had the fish tacos, which were as good as I have ever had. The fish was piping hot while the greens and veggies were cool and crisp. We had endless glasses of ice tea and will certainly go back next time we're in town.

“Somewhere in between very good and average”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 2, 2013

Service was great. My fried oysters and scallops were wonderful. Crab cakes had a different taste and we did not love them. dessert (blueberry bread pudding was not good - needed more sauce and tasted like it had been in the refrigerator for a while.

Had a classic shrimp po' boy and a shrimp and crab cake sandwich. The shrimp and crab sandwich was ver tasty and very messy. Good service.

“First time for tilefish”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 2, 2013 via mobile

The first time I had ever had tilefish. It was excellent as was the halibut.
The server was very helpful in selecting oysters. I am a novice choosing them.
Our dinner though excellent was slow coming from the kitchen. The manager on noticing took upon himself to offer a free dessert. We were sure it was an unqualified occurrence and the manner in which the manager handled the issue was appreciated.
