Description: Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar opened in 2009, reviving the former Amen name of Cumberland Street and restoring this historic corner. The new renovation stays true to the beauty of the original 1800's architecture while creating a comfortable atmosphere for contemporary life. Located at 205 East Bay Street in the heart of the historic district this Charleston seafood restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining all within walking distance of the local Market and the Charleston Harbor. The menu includes a variety of seafood dishes such as oysters, clams and shrimp in addition to an ever growing raw bar menu. Amen Street supports Charleston's local fishing industry with market fresh fish. We are open for lunch and dinner. Walk-ins are welcome and reservations are accepted as well.

We ate lunch at Amen Street on a recommendation from our culinary tour. Shrimp & Grits was unbelievably good due to the sauce on the grits and we also had herb grilled grouper. Flavors of the food were outstanding and the service and atmosphere were also good. Really a top-notch place among many in Charleston.

An amazing dinner experience that saved our night. We were on a wait list at another restaurant and decided to try an other locale....Wow! The crab cakes and baked oysters were the best I had ever had! Fish tacos and Baked Flounder with Quinoa were tasty! Dessert was divine: flourless chocolate cake---OMG---blueberry pudding--another OMG---and the mint creme brulee was unique and just divine. The atmosphere was cozy with dimly lit oyster chandeliers hanging above. There was relaxing background music and a welcoming atmosphere. Family friendly! Enjoy. You might need a reservation for seating without a wait.

This cocktail is a keeper! Captain Morgan's spiced rum, grand marnier, lime and bitters, soooo good and a wonderful prelude to a delicious dinner of wine, oysters, tile fish with spinach and yellow beets. The server was excellent.

Beautiful interior, corner table for 6 is great for watching the street scene.
Fish tacos and oysters were to die for. Medium cheeseburger came a little on the rare side and the french firies were cut up into tiny pieces which made them hard to eat.

I dined with a large group the night we ate here and the server was able to keep-up with the multiple requests, without losing his good nature or accuracy. There was a variety of entrees ordered for dinner and everything looked and smelled wonderful. I had 2 appetizers instead of an entree. The 2 crabcakes were a delight for the mouth- all crabmeat no filler! The other selection I made was the mussels prepared with a wine-tomato "sauce"/broth served with several pieces of toasted bread fpr dipping - oh yeah! Next trip back to Charleston will certainly order at least one of the two dishes I enjoyed and maybe try something new.
Only thing that was a bit off-putting was the noise level. We had a reservation during prime dining hours and there were times I felt I almost had to yell to have the person next to me hear our conversation. That said, it was a very full house and it wont stop me from returning here.
