My girlfriend and I decided to try the Haunted Tour while we were on vacation in Charleston. We had a great time on this tour. The stories really were not scary but the boat ride was great. Our guide was very animated and really into the stories.

My wife and I recently took the Sunset Cruise through Sandlapper Water Tours. The cruise starts at the Maritime Center which is directly beside the South Carolina aquarium. There is also free parking at the Maritime Center! The catamaran is the perfect size for the cruise. It only holds 49 people and there are plenty of seats so you don't feel like you are being 'herded' onto a boat. They did a nice cruise around the Battery and Rainbow Row for some great shots of Charleston's most photographed street. They also cruised by Shem Creek, which is a bit of a locals spot in Charleston that has tons of restaurants on the water. (We drove back to Shem Creek for dinner after getting off the cruise.) Lastly they cruise under the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge which is a must see in Charleston. We rode over the bridge when coming into the city but it is brilliant to see from the water. Check out the attached pictures from the sunset over the bridge! They also have three other cruises, a nature, history, and ghost tour! We will definitely be trying one of the other cruises next time!

We took a nice scenic ride to Morris Island with plenty of history from our guides along the way. Time spent on the island allowed us to gather sea shells and enjoy the view of the ocean and fort sumtner. Seeing dolphins on the way back was a plus!

This was our third trip to Charleston, and the Sandlapper Haunted Harbor Tour was great. Ed Macy was the tour guide...and we had NO idea what a treasure we were getting. Ed was well-informed, entertaining, and a lot of fun. He has written several books on the ghosts of Charleston and has been on a few TV specials. The cruise offered a cash bar - inexpensive drinks were available. Not the best drinks, but I had a decent glass of wine for $3. Would definitely recommend this to groups of adults - but not for small children. Parts of the tour were graphic - as you would expect for this type of event.

The tour around the Charleston Harbor was much better than I was expecting and the refreshments were reasonably priced. The captain was very friendly and knowledgeable and displayed humor throughout the tour when talking about ghosts and the city of Charleston history. I highly recommend this tour and give kudos to tour guide Ed Macy for going above and beyond his job duties to make the tour so fun and educational. I would definitely go on another Sandlapper Water Tour again, and it is worth the $24 cost. Thanks!
