I enjoyed stopping here. Not a lot to see, but since it doesn't take long is very much worth the effort to stop if you are in the area. I had a great talk with Nicole who allowed me to ask direct questions about slavery, etc.

Everyone in the U.S. should visit this museum. Very quiet and simple, but huge impact. Lots of information. A reverential feeling. Recordings of former slaves and their rememberances, which are priceless. This is the actual place where humans were bought and sold, and it's a reality that is difficult to fathom.

This is a small museum but contains a wealth of info re: the "peculiar institution" known as slavery. Information is well presented and staff personnel, esp Nicole on the 2nd floor, can provide answers to any questions from visitors.

The museum is small but informative, the audio links were especially good and gave a real insight into the conditions slaves found themselves in.The staff were reall enthusiastic and were interested in hearing about the slave museum in our home town of Liverpool which has many links wiyh Charleston through the cotton and slave trade

This is a perfect place if you're a charitable person and willing to give away $7 for virtually nothing. The information presented about slave mart is historical fact and appreciated. The exhibit is extremely limited done almost entirely with typed up documentation on fancy boards. Very little audio visual or physical presentations. Apparently they ran out of the items to show on the upstairs, two sets of identical poster boards are set up facing each other. This place will carry a value only if offered on a complementary basis.
