Although some of the tombs are in disrepair (which makes it even more interesting) this is a lovely place to see some of Charleston's history. The grounds are very cool, the tombstones are great to read, the Hunley memorial gives you pause as to why three times men were sent down and three times the different crews came to rest in Magnolia......it is one of the places in Charleston you should go see and wander, it will give you a sense of the history of the city!

My husband wanted to see this place. The three crews of the Confederate submarine Hunley are buried here. There is also a very ancient and large tree that is here, which is really neat to see.

I stopped here after visiting the HL Hunley to see the crew memorial/burial. Easy to find and huge cemetery with many old and beautiful monuments.

We visited Magnolia and St Lawrence cemeteries on a beautiful spring morning. We made the trip to see two particular graves. The staff at the office were helpful, located the graves for us, and printed off a map. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, and the history of Charleston and its people could keep you here for hours. Well worth a visit.

We did a quick stop here - it was on our list of places we wanted to go but we didn't think we would have time and then we happened to be driving past it and saw it and took a quick drive in. It was very peaceful and well kept. We drove around a bit but did not have time to take in too much of it due to timing. We plan on coming back to Charleston and spending a little more time here.
