I loved this park. Since we arrived mid afternoon and then had to go back to the car to get an umbrella during a downpour, we only ended up with 2.5 hours to see the park - which is not enough time. I really enjoyed the animal trail - don't miss that. Also, get the headsets which is an additional $5. It narrates the history of the early settlers.

One of the least expensive attractions that Charleston area has to offer and well worth the time and money to visit and get a full appreciation of the early settlers' lives as well as the viewing of the animals that inhabited the area in the early years of S.C. The trails are all paved and we spent over 3 hrs enjoying all the beauty the whole park has to offer as well as interacting with all the animals. If you have kids, they will love exploring the boat docked in the water as well. Highly recommend taking time to tour this park !!

If you are into history I would give this place a visit. It is really worth planning on spending half a day here at least. Great for picnics and its one of the few kid friendly historic places in town. I can't add a lot to the other 5 star reviews other than to say they should probably charge more, but its a state park and not a "tourist attraction".

On a recent 2 day trip to Charleston we went to Charles Town Landing as we had never been
there before. For us--80 years old--it had too much walking for what was available to see. Not many flowers were blooming and the information given for the walk we found hard to follow. We felt time would have better spent strolling downtown.

We enjoyed the museum and learned many things we didn't know about early settlers. There are picnic tables and the grounds are well maintained and lots of room for children to play.
