It’s not very big, but Charleston is a walking town, so walk on by. Beautiful fountains, lovely views, and neat architecture.

We stayed at the Vendue so the park was a very short walk away. The park offers a beautiful view of the waterfront and is a nice relaxing walk away from all the traffic in downtown Charleston. The fountains offer a great backdrop for some trip photos.

Before the pier is a lovely fountain and brass maps of the city over the centuries. It was interesting to see how the city grew and changed. The pier has covered seating, a couple of swinging benches, and uncovered seating. Relaxing atmosphere.

It is so relaxing to sit here and watch the boats of all sizes going by, the pelicans diving for fish and occasional dolphins. The pineapple fountain in the park is unique and lovely. We also enjoy looking at the bronze maps of Charleston for each of the last four centuries to see how it has changed. There are also many benches in the shade if it is too hot.
