Owner description: Bright green public space overlooking the coast: great for picnics and lounging.

Kid friendly area with fountains, open parks, great views of the water and often a docking or departing cruise ship. Benches and swinging benches all around the area are available though this is a frequented stop for locals and tourists. Grab a cup of coffee around the corner and walk through the Waterfront park.

Slightly off East Bay St, so you can walk around or sit and relax here before or after eating at the good restaurants nearby. Nice to watch pelicans and other sea birds especially in the earlier morning hours. Nice swinging benches. Also this pier connects with a path that goes a long way around the peninsula, allowing for great views of the harbor and Charleston's wonderful houses, and a good running route.

Great location to take a breather from the hustle bustle of touring Charleston. If you can land yourself a swing, YAY! If not, continue down to the water's edge and plunk yourself on the ample seating where you can watch easily for dolphins playing nearby in the water. There's always a breeze and - if watching for dolphins becomes boring - great people watching, too. Scenery is super. Smells are likewise - so 'love you some' pluff mud air!
After you've set a while, take a bit of time to walk to the far end of the park and back. While doing so you'll take in the Pineapple Fountain, a symbol of our hospitality. If you're brave enough, take off your shoes and take a spin under the 'fronds' of the wade-able water feature. Across from the park is a hidden art gallery, facing the park. Need some gelato - no prob. It's across the street, too! Enjoy!

You should stroll over down the waterfront before sunset to take in the full panorama. The view across the harbor...the aircraft carrier...the pineapple fountain. Then there is the swings on the pier on the bay. It is as romantic a stroll as you can take.
