Day or night, warm or cold, it's always a pleasant area to walk around, especially after gorging yourself at one of many nearby eateries on East Bay St. The fountains offer photo opportunities, as well as a chance to cool off or wet your feet should you desire. The Ashley River provides a cool breeze that you don't get elsewhere in town. The long pier is a nice little walk, and has a few wooden bench swings for two to enjoy.

This was such a comfortable place to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Charleston waterfront. The pier had several porch swings full of people, there were people out on the pier enjoying the boats and the swimming dolphins, more people were walking the paths, and children were playing in the fountain! What a great place to relax and enjoy.

We strolled through this park a couple times when we visited. Each time we discovered something relaxing to do: the swings, watching dolphins in the distance, and people watch. One night we saw the most beautiful moonrise I’ve ever seen. It was a glorious blood orange color. We all just stood there in awe.

The park is not very large, but, it’s a very relaxing place to visit. It’s not far from the French Quarter and other lively sections of town, so it’s a nice place to unwind after a few hours of sightseeing and shopping.

Plus, it's fun to just sit on the pier and swing!

This is a great park that runs the length of Charleston's historic district. Their is a pier you can walk out on and take in views of the bridge, the air craft carrier, Ft Sumter, and the beautiful landscaping. I will have to say there was a cold snap while I was there which cut my enjoyment of the park short. It was roughly 40 degrees in Charleston and with the wind whipping up off the water it made it a little tough to spend a lot of time. It was easy to imagine a warm summer night though with the palm trees and a stroll along it after a great dinner in one of Charleston's many fine restaurants. Worth a visit while in town.

The view from here is very cool -- you can see the bridge, a ship, herons, dolphins, and sailboats. There is a pretty fountain you can wade in and best of all, porch swings! It was the PERFECT place to wrap up our day in Charleston.
