This is a clean and well maintained historic park. There is a lot for the Civil War buff with monuments and cannons. It is also a great place to look out to Fort Sumpter. Even if not interested in history, this is a pretty little spot to go for a walk.

We love going to the waterfront area downtown with our 6-year old son. He loves playing in the fountains when the weather is warm enough. Great views of the harbor and usually not over-crowded. The park is usually clean and we can find parking without too much trouble, if not on the street (which we can most Saturday or Sunday mornings) there are several low-cost garages within a block ($2-3 for a half-day).

A beautiful place to walk around down by the water. People watch, walk through the beautiful trees, gaze out over Fort Sumter, and the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, and just relax and enjoy the water breezes
