Owner description: This beautiful church dates back to 1844 and is the only French Hugenot church in the country that still gives the liturgy in French.

A beautiful church in a city filled with beautiful churches! A lovely volunteer gave a nice history of the congregation and the reason it exists. Peaceful and quiet.

Early architectural example of the first religious settlers of Charleston. Maintained nicely.

I was headed for St. Phillip's which I found closed and passed by this church and there were 2 volunteers at the door so I stopped by. They were very gracious and happy to give me a history of the church. There is a very bright blue chandelier hanging - not an original, but custom made in Germany by a Philadelphia family who gave it to the church. They are still using the original Huguenot liturgy - the only one in the country they tell me. There are no regular touring hours - it depends upon the volunteer schedules although Fodor's says it isopen daily.
