Owner description: This private 2 hour boat adventure is what Charleston is really all about! I'm a native captain, so we'll glide through the uncrowded backwaters of the most pristine estuaries in the country. We'll learn to harvest oysters, catch shrimp and identify local shore birds. Next, we'll find the Bottlenose Dolphins. Having them swim next to the boat is exciting, but if we find them feeding in the shallows it's spectacular! Our next destination is Morris Island where I'll teach you about its rich Civil War history as well as my own family ties to it. We'll then walk its shores looking for shells and artifacts as the sixth oldest lighthouse in the nation serves as our backdrop! So as you can see we have something for everybody on this trip. The dolphins are always here, the beach is loaded with shells, and if you listen hard enough you just may hear the roar of cannons from the past. So come on and join me! You never know what washed up the night before...

So it was the 5 star reviews that sold us on Capt Gresh and they are all true. We had a wonderful trip, lots of great info, saw dolphins (of course), and laughed a lot. The trip is safe, easy, and great fun. Capt Gresh is a real son-of-the-Island and knows lots of both historical lore and info on the Eco system. Rather than packing onto a group boat our trip was just the three of us. You can't get any more personal treatment. We will do this again and recommend to our friends.

As a family of 6 including 2 children, on July 10, 2013 we went to buy tickets for this trip. The 3PM trip was sold out, so we waited for the 6PM trip. It was worth the wait. The ocean was a little ruff, but we saw many dolphins. Every person on the boat was full exitement, including all of us. While returning, kids were allowed to become the captain and steer the boat. A very nice gesture that kids loved.
Negative was that some Russians demanded to be seated first although they were waiting only for 1/2 hour and others much longer. The person taking pictures took it upon her to allow it. Ridiculous and the only very negative part of this trip. By acting this way, she insulted all other visitors and she did not care. The actual crew apologized for it. All in all a trip everyone should take. By the way, although you pay for the trip, don't be greedy and cheap, a tip is appreciated by the small crew.

This was my family's first time to Kiawah Island and South Carolina. We wanted to take a family beach vacation before our oldest heads off to college in a month and spend some quality time together just the four of us. We booked our 2 hour cruise on the recommendation of friends who visited Kiawah Island over spring break. We sure are glad we did! As an 8th generation Charlestonian, not only was Captain Gresh extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his home, he was also extremeley personable and friendly and really made for a delightful afternoon! The oyster beds in the river were amazing and we saw some Bottlenose Dolphins too! Hearing all the history of Morris Island and the lighthouse was really fascinating, and to see the 6th oldest lighthouse in the US was pretty cool! I was determined to come away with a few sand dollars and I ended up finding 8 perfectly formed beautiful ones that I will treasure! Those and all the spectacular photos we took will preserve this trip in our memory forever! These 2 hours were truly one of the highlights of our trip and we will be sure to recommend this charter and Captain Gresh to all of our Ohio friends that vacation in the Low Country!!!

Wow, what an amazing charter!! The scenery alone is breath taking, but Capt. Gresh's wealth of knowledge about the wildlife and history makes the trip a touching and absolutely memorable adventure! His fun spirit and genuine personality can't be beat! We will definitely be signing up for the 4 hour excursion next time we visit Charleston! We want more of this! Thanks for an amazing experience, Gresh!

What an amazing morning! Morris Island is a must see and getting there with Absolute Reel Screamer Charters is the way to get there! We booked a 2-hour charter with Captain Gresh for Morris Island. This excursion was one of the highlights of our vacation! Captain Gresh had a clean, well maintained boat, knew amazing facts about the area, and even helped up hunt for that perfect shell! We not only found beautiful shells, but found a piece of old pottery, petrified wood, and my personal highlight was seeing a shark that I got a great photo of. Also, on the way to and from Morris Island, we saw several dolphins!! We highly recommend this excursion! The only regret I have is that I forgot to take a picture of Captain Gresh and his boat for our scrapbook.
