We recently took the 2 hour boat ride to Morris Island. Although we were very excited to go based on our concierge's description of the trip going with Gresh Meggett exceeded our expectations. We were able to see lots of wildlife including osprey, dolphin, all the oyster beds etc. Gresh was very informative regarding all of the wildlife, conservation, Civil war history as well as local history of Charleston and the waterways. He was very enthusiastic and gave us about an hour to explore the beach on the island. We are from the Northeast and go to the ocean each summer but our kids had never seen a beach so covered with great shells. They were also very interested to hear his stories of all the interesting artifacts he has come across on the shores over the years. Our kids felt this was the coolest thing they had done in Charleston.
