Owner description: This private 2 hour boat adventure is what Charleston is really all about! I'm a native captain, so we'll glide through the uncrowded backwaters of the most pristine estuaries in the country. We'll learn to harvest oysters, catch shrimp and identify local shore birds. Next, we'll find the Bottlenose Dolphins. Having them swim next to the boat is exciting, but if we find them feeding in the shallows it's spectacular! Our next destination is Morris Island where I'll teach you about its rich Civil War history as well as my own family ties to it. We'll then walk its shores looking for shells and artifacts as the sixth oldest lighthouse in the nation serves as our backdrop! So as you can see we have something for everybody on this trip. The dolphins are always here, the beach is loaded with shells, and if you listen hard enough you just may hear the roar of cannons from the past. So come on and join me! You never know what washed up the night before...

“Highlight of our Vacation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2012

The four hours we spent on this private tour were truly the most fun and relaxing part of our vacation to Charleston. We came home with some incredible photographs of the lighthouse, shrimp boats, and various wildlife, mostly a variety of birds (heron, egrets, oyster catchers, seagulls and pelicans) though we managed to catch some dolphins in action. Our time spent on Morris Island was the best part of the day, finding fossils and shells and walking along a mostly deserted beach. We would come back to Charleston just to do this again.

“Amazing Private Tour!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2012

Capt Gresh did a great job giving us history of the area/island as well as letting us know what species of fish and such inhabited the area. We were excited to see the dolphins in their natural surroundings:) When we arrived at the island he gave us tips on where to find sand dollars and conch shells then we had an hour of private time to roam the beach. On the way back to the dock he took us to see the oyster beds and informed us that National Geographic is at the island researching the dolphins strand feeding technique, which they do nowhere else in the world!
The trip was amazing and a great price! i would recommend it to anyone yound and old! This tour is not to be missed!!!!!

“Perfect morning”

The kids both young and old had a blast as we explored the back waters and Morris Island. Informative, relaxing, personal attention and great fun. Highly recommended and much more intimate than the bigger tours.

“Great Trip !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2012

Cap'n Gresh Provided our family with a fun and informative excursion. Watching the dolphins herding mullet onshore was amazing. Cap'n Gresh's local knowledge being a native Chalestonian made the trip even better. This was money very well spent.

“Wicked Awesome Trip!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2012

This was a fabulous trip. My husband and I got to go with Captain Gresh Megget out to the point of Folly Island to see the Morris Island Lighthouse. On the way to the beach area he told us about the history of the area we were boating in and the wildlife we were seeing. On the way back after walking the beach, he took us up an inlet where he had see some dolphins feeding and we got to experience these beautiful creatures "strand feeding" where they force the fish onto the banks and come totally out of the water to eat the fish from the bank. This is the only area in the world where dolphins have been seen doing this. It was an experience of a lifetime.
I highly recommend this trip. Thanks Captain Gresh!
